Montana Trolls Shoutout

First, since is a word that means in the past. For the bold sentence, you should replace it with 'given that'. Second, again looking at the bold sentence, what type of logic is this, it must be something they teach at UT.

This is a run-on sentence. I learned that at UT.

Correcting your terrible use of the English language is a neccesity after you decided to give your resumay and describe your purported intellect.
Can't say it really riles me up though. However, it is a big part of why you aren't getting the " respect" that you are whining about. Btw, whiners don't get respect either. Ever.

I guess I was being unclear. I am not here for your respect, nor do I think I have whined. In all honesty, I thought the game went better than I originally thought it would and am here to just find out what the UT fan base thinks. On that note, people like WoodsmanVol are amazing. He has a special talent of divorcing his emotions from the game and being purely analytical when discussing it.

However, this thread was sorry before I got here, it only at 8 posts. Now look at it.

Alright, let's slow down now. Really, I loved the game and it turned out much like I suspected it would. However, three things stood out for me (from a Montana perspective). One, our D-line is really good. Two, our secondary really sucks. And three, I hate the spread option so much, it's like the guy that won't show up for the fight after school--it just feels sneaky.

I think you missed the biggest one of all though, our linebackers. How many times did you hear Tripp and McSorley's names called, at least when the announcers got names right. They butchered everything. Our depth was apparent at lb, as I was hearing the 3rd stringers names called in the 2nd quarter. Lots of depth there.

Game is over. It's time to move on. Montana was a nice scrimmage, but we have more important things to worry about. Hope all you Grizz fans liked Knoxville and the pregame/game atmosphere.

No, I don't think Griz fans are complaining about running up the score, it's obvious that you could have scored more. It's more of a respect thing. With that written, Griz fans should know better than to com to volnation looking for respect.

peeked at the Griz board, a few, emphasis on few, are complaining. But the REAL fans are pointing out it's up to the opposing team to stop scoring. Plus some gave very insightful responses. I'm copying and pasting without ID-ing the posters, to wit:

a. Hmmm...must be me. I have a totally different take on the starters being left in. To me it was a sign of respect, he wasnt comfortable with his second of third team out there with an entire quarter left. And you know what? We stopped the first team. You can bet our boys will remember that 4-down stop for a long time. Big plays killed us the most in this game. Eliminate them, get a few breaks and this game was a toss-up.

b. The vol's aren't a good team. Their o-line is horrible. I think Dooley left his 1st team O in to get some practice, because they are going to need it. I think Dooley was trying to get the run game going. They could have passed all day on the griz.
The griz played hard the whole game.

c. The object of football is to score points, if you dont like that then stop the other team from scoring points.

This PC pussy mentality most of you metrosexuals have now days is appalling and its sad that the US has so few men left that can ...........well......act like men.

d. Agreed that running up the score is unsportsmanlike except in the FBS college ranks. This is all about money.
Follow me here.
Okay, and FBS team runs up the score on the opposing team and (even though it is not supposed to) the BCS computers somehow take this into account and will start ranking them.
Dooley, if he can get his team ranked by the time the first BCS poll comes out, can say to future recruits that he took his team from NCAA sanctions to a ranked/national contender in a very short time. More recruits fall for this line and then they become more powerful and ranked higher, which in turn will mean that UT gets more money, which in turn will mean that Dooley will get a bigger contract.

There's more but I think you can see that UM has some thoughtful and classy fans who don't make excuses. Just like their team.

I wish when the montana fans leave our board, you would go with them.
