The 4th and Goal is something Dooley has done ever sense has been here. He doesn't run bootleg pass or anything like that when he is up big in the 4th. He would have done the same thing from the 20 yd line. If they are in shutdown mode it will be 2nd/3rd team line/back and it will be run up middle until they stop us on 4th down. Put everyone in the box and it will be the same play. Kicking FG is what should have made Griz fans mad instead of 4th & Goal play

They did put in the 4th running back though.

1. Poole - 24 carries
2. Lane - 10 carries
3. Neal - 3 carries
4. Smith - 2 carries

Granted the 3rd and 4th guys only combined for 5 runs, they were in at the end.

You're supposed to snap the ball to the punter and have him turn around and punt in the opposite direction I guess.

Grizz fans complaining about running up the score perhaps have never seen Spurrier or Meyer call plays in similar games.

By today's standards, I don't think you can consider this running up the score at all.

Is there a serious thread on this issue? It seems like people are interested.

I'm interested, and I don't know what the "right" thing to do is. However, I do remember three 4th down attempts, and UT went for it every time. And, I guess that is okay, but if you are using us for practice, it seems like missed practice opportunities for some of the special teams guys.

Just comments on Dooley's decisions. Our Vols are young, untested, inexperienced on almost every level. Dooley evaluates all the time and especially now. He needs every opportunity to get that team ready for SEC play. The game was used for that purpose so is why he did what he did. Our first string, especially compared to the rest of the SEC isn't all that good but has huge potential to be better. Dooley is in effect buying time, not purposely insulting your time by being classless. Plus your team is really good. If we'd put our 2nd and 3rd string in, very likely you'd have come back. Why take an unnecessary risk? Finally, please ignore classless Vols fans who don't know what respect is if you dropped them head first into it. by responding in kind, you're just putting yourself eight floors below their level.

No, I don't think Griz fans are complaining about running up the score, it's obvious that you could have scored more. It's more of a respect thing. With that written, Griz fans should know better than to com to volnation looking for respect.

I agree with everything you wrote Woodsman, I was trying to be sarcastic and give the OP and others what they wanted.

Also, I mean, c'mon, I know I make as many mistakes writing as others. I am just trying (and succeeding) to rile up your fans like they wanted.

In fact, yes, on more things to do. I need to finish setting up an experiment. as for mature, no, most of us could drink the undergraduates under the table. We just feel it more in the morning.

Correcting your terrible use of the English language is a neccesity after you decided to give your resumay and describe your purported intellect.
Can't say it really riles me up though. However, it is a big part of why you aren't getting the " respect" that you are whining about. Btw, whiners don't get respect either. Ever.
