IMO.....I'd take (in no particular order)...

Montana
Unitas
Brady
Elway
Favre

Winning means a lot in my opinion...and if I recall Manning has only 1 ring. Marino rarely makes many top lists because sadly he has no rings. Tarkenton is another in that category.

He only had one ring.

Peyton has another 5 years in him to add another Super Bowl. Brady hasn't won anything since spy-gate.

Come on dude. He's barely top 10. He doesn't deserve to mentioned with the likes of FRAN TARKENTON.

Not hardly. I dont spend my nights writing 15-20 anti Montana posts. How many times have we seen "Vols win by 50+"? You have to search long and hard to find many serious negative posts from me that are anti Vol. Personally I could care less if you visit the Montana board. Its a matter of personal choice. If Montana pulls that upset on Saturday you may not be visiting this board either....lol. Not that I believe they will.

They have they're own board? Where...... Montana?

Interestingly, Manning rated a full 8 points higher in the recent ESPN QB ratings than the next closest (two) current QBs. I believe the ratings were based on the past 3 years.

Yeah, but don't forget Brady missed 2008. Only my opinion, I almost would put YA Title in over Favre, but that would really get people howling...lol.

edit: Manning does have a few years left, we shall see. Is this where I admit I have been a Patriots fans since 1971 and the days of Jim Plunkett and Randy Vataha?

My personal favorite quarterback is Steve Grogan, the dude could run or throw. To bad injuries slowed him up. Just liked how he played.

Unlike montana's DB, peyton doesn't stop the opposing team on D and throw up all them numbers. Peyton is so out of his league when we discuss montana's CFL kickers.

Brady's stats rarely equal Peyton's over the course of a year. In fact, it has only happened twice.

It's funny how you guys feel that Montana couldn't possibly have a player that can hold a candle to anything on UT's roster. You feel this way even though the NFL feels they are good enough to play in their league.

I can only conclude one of two things from you guys and that is:

1. All the current Vols players are better than everyone on NFL rosters.

2. You are a bunch of idiots.

Counterpoint:

1. Your best corner can only cover one receiver. UT can put 4 burners on the field. What's "Plan B"?

2. Wherever the coverage goes, Bray will go the other way. Plan C?

3. Hopefully, your secondary can tackle well, because they are going to get lots of looks at Poole and Lane. Plan D?

4. E, all of the above. At the end of the day, UT is going to spank Montana like an obnoxious 3-year old at WalMart. The UT team has, unfortunately for you, read a lot of posts by your fans and posters. They are going to take the field with fire in their eyes, and it will be your players who pay the price for your ignorance and arrogance. Enjoy the fan-induced ass-whipping. We certainly will.

Enjoy the rest of your schedule. It won't compare, by any measure, to Game #1.

Go Vols.

And he doesn't have the weapons that Brady has had. Harrison, Wayne, and Clark aside. I probably just ruined my own argument, but I thought I knew what
I was talking about, and that's all that matters.

Lol. Well, making house-hold fantasy football names out of Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon has to account for something.

He's talking all of FCS...the first two that come to mind to me are Walter Payton & Jerry Rice. Hard for any Vol player to top those two. Manning is good but not top 5 at his position IMO. Top 10 maybe.

You're out of your damn mind if you really believe this Ordigger.

Haha,
Just trying to town my anger levels down. It puts off an unpleasant vibe, and I don't want folks thinking I'm an angry dude with a blown gasket.

Just smack talk, mostly, and then chatter from some of the kiddie fans who don't even know Vol history, least of all anyone else. This game matters far more for the those Montana players with NFL prospects, and I think they will play very well. Still suspect a 30 point win or so, but this game-within-a-game of Johnson against Rogers will be fun to watch. DaRick should be the real deal, and Johnson appears to be as well.

I'm going:

Elway
Montana
Unitas
Manning
Staubach
Favre
Young
Marino
Brady
Moon
