Money people upset

What we need to do is find a coach that has actually been successful as a head coach at a D1 program and quit hoping that an up and comer is going to be the answer. You would think that after you have paid a few guys that used to coach here for a few years for nothing then you would finally get it. Tennessee doesn't seem to learn from mistakes and now were in a situation where coaches that would've coached here don't want to coach here now. I think it is looking quite likely were going into the coach look mode again what will we do if it happens? Are we going to look for an up and comer from Mule Tech U or are we willing to do what it takes to get a proven winner. Unless Pruitt suddenly figures it out were headed toward another search real soon.

Don't know how true it is but heard from
someone who spends a lot of time on computers that the money people are upset with Fulmer and Pruitt . Maybe some of you other posters could check other websites and find out if it is. Don't want to start rumors.

the “money” people helped us get in this f’d up situation in the first place

Sorry but this is wishful thinking. Your statement would be valid if we had an administration that truly cared about it’s football program. We don’t.
He's actually spot on. They don't care about a winning football program...that is true. What they care about is a full or near full stadium, and the revenue that type of support produces. If it stops producing, even in the short term, changes get made.

So your friend that lives in his mommy’s basement told you this?
It has to be true

Went to a new winery with the wife yesterday and chatted with a guy who I used to fish with. He built a winery in N.C. cause he always had a dream of doing so at the cost of approx. 5 years and $18m and according to him will not see a profit probably in his life. He didn’t do it for the kids as they are Drs in various specialties. He did it cause he wanted the challenge after being a successful businessman for most of his life. His boat I fished on was $8m Jarrett bay that fished 3 billfish tourneys and about 6-8 other times a year. Hardly a justifiable expense since he wasnt even on the boat several times. Yearly maint and upkeep on that toy was more than my house and land combined.
I hunt a property in the mountains that a man spent $1.5m putting a road in to a 1 acre spring fed pond that we stocked trout in. He said he might fish it 2-3 times a year.
The moral of all this Is Some people have “*** it“money, the likes of which us mere mortals will never understand, ROI be damned and there are no sure ways of quantifying what that is. UTVASF has more than several people who can write a check for 12m cause they want Pruitt gone and never miss it. Question is will they....? Tell us o crystal ball @Water_Rat will they?
I don’t have a crystal ball but if UT can find a sure bet replacement then I believe they will force a change.

They have proven that by:
--Holding UTAD to higher educational standards than the SEC standards
--By the last four HC hires. NO ONE ELSE WANTED ANY OF THESE GUYS WHEN WE HIRED THEM!!
Correct about the higher than SEC standards academically, and this kills us. Vandie East, thats what we are now.

That is the point where you lost me.

Big Jim is the founder of Pilot Oil and he is probably close to 90 years old. His son, Jimmy, is the CEO of Pilot and owner of the Browns.
And has NEVER lost any influence at the University of Tennessee.
Twitter idiots do not decide who has influence.
Donations do.

My mailman's twin sister has a friend who knows someone who has an uncle who's next door neighbor spends a lot of time on computers. Apparently what you're saying is not true. The money people also think JG gives us the best chance to win and they told Beldar to start JG or else. Talk about a coincidence. 😜

We may be at the point next year. Hard to tell this year because of COVID.

Both of which seems to be doing just fine, and the Browns are going to make the Playoffs.

I have no no problem with Jimmy H wanting some input for his huge contributions. Hell, people pay $10 just to get their comment seen on UT YouTube podcasts. It how capitalism works. You pay, you play. I am not rich, by any stretch of the imagination, unless you count my health, my family, and my wife (And I do), but I've never gotten a paying job from a poor man.
But we can't hate the Haslams, and then expect them to bail us out, every time a coach doesn't work out. Come to grips with it, like OK State and T. Boone Pickens.

Respectfully disagree...but that point doesn't need to be argued again. There are two clearly delineated opinions on the effect of COVID.

He was subpar before COVID and will be subpar after it.

Thats partially true.

They change the face.

The results remain the same.
