The promise of Lagway's play last year kept Sunbelt Billy in his job, imo. Now that promise looks like fools gold.
So you are saying that he is coaching for a buy outHard to argue with that but its not just that. It's his refusal to allow more creativity on offense by a real OC and, more importantly, the repeate and frustrating lack of preparation for basic game management directly attributed to bad coaching : procedure and personnel penalties coming out of timeouts, basic equipment errors, stupid personal fouls and lack of discipline.
Emory Williams has impressed in practice and the spring game . They also have a 4* true freshman. Not sure if he would go after another transfer or not.
Great. The one year we have them scheduled towards the latter part of the season, it gives them time to insert a new starter at QB and provide him experience before Tennessee comes to the Swamp.
The offseason was awesome for UF.![]()
Tale of two rivals: Florida is surging into 2025, Tennessee is bleeding out
Florida is projecting strength, Tennessee is venting vulnerability. Welcome to a wild 2025 offseason.www.usatoday.com
I dare not post this in the FB forum. But it does feel like UF is building momentum whereas Tennessee is questioning itself to the point it will lose confidence and players.
This is the biggest thing for me. I think UF would be better off firing Napier now if they are going to do it. Starters and rotational players would be much less likely to enter right now with so much of the season ahead of them. Even on a bad team, you still want to play. This seems like a silly overreaction. There is a good chance the coach is replaced before the starting QB. On top of that, the 30 day portal window opens so there could be an exodus.
