That reasoning is as weak as it would be if I said that it were racially motivated.
Here I thought it was do the crime and suffer the consequences.

not really. He's a 1st team all-SEC player and the face of the defense. Expecting an article to run with a pic of a backup DT instead is a little ridiculous.

Laws are passed for our own good because most people are too ignorant to know any better.

So we trust people we do not know to make rules for all of us and assume they know better.

Not including the pic of the backup seems a little biased.

I agree with the sentiment. AJ has suffered through and stuck with our program. If VN is going to use his likeness, put him in a uniform. That mug shot is overkill IMO. Surely there are other pics to use.

There's also a sign leading into every military base telling you how long it's been since their last alcohol related offense... People get busted underage drinking in the mitary also.

The guys that were just drinking will be handled internally, and they will regret getting caught.

Laying hands on a police officer, resisting arrest, drugs, and the generally lack of respect shown by a select few towards law enforcement, their teammates, their coaches, their families, and the fans will be punished accordingly.

Playing football for the university is a privilege, it's not a right. And they should respect that.

Being drunk at a party at 1am when they have classes the next day was stupid, and they should know better

The only reason Ut-tix posts this holier than thou stuff is because he or she has never been invited to a party. Carry on

You are so right. The government must control every phase of our lives as we do not have the maturity or brain power to live as we see fit. And look what a wonderful, problem free country we have today as a result of all these government mandated laws. Why we have fixed the education system, the street crime issue, and the underage drinking issue. Next on the agenda is our health care. Stay tuned progressives. Big brother is in control.

I agree with your premise, however you failed to mention any laws that are in place that protect us. I suppose you would prefer to go back to the wild west days were rape, murder and thievery were more prevalent when you factor in population numbers.

They big brother paranoid people are the same ones crying when the crap hits the fan and people want the government to do something.

I hope they don't go back and investigate what I did in college. And, for all of you in glass houses, don't throw stones!!!!!!!!!

With ya warrior.

I can remember, back in my Navy days, being either carried or helping carry someone accross the quarterdeck of of my ship.

Heck there was a few times when I was doing both.

None of us like seeing this or that it even happend but having it here is nothing compared to the tens of thousands of "just busted" papers it's in.

I wish it was only on VN.

Thanks to a Michael Sam it's not even being talked about sept by us so if we stop it goes away.

pretty sure this site is a place to talk about all facets of Vol sports. As a fan you have to take the good with the bad. The picture on the from of VN is simply relaying news about quite a few UT football players. They had complete control on whether their face made the front page

A picture isn't relaying news, it's sensationalizing it. His punishment will be more than fair without plastering his jail photo op on a free message board forum that recruits tend to check in on from time to time. I love the court of public opinion, everyone acts as if they are a bunch of saints in here. Instead all I see is a bunch of insecure hypocrites that support the belief that no punishment is too much regardless of the offense.
