I just wanted to take a minute and let VolNation how amazing Mo Couch is. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty and has showed me and my family what true love and compassion is all about. He is my hero and will forever be remembered by my family as a TRUE VOLUNTEER.
My 12 year old cousin Sam was accidentally shot in the leg with a deer rifle Saturday evening. After being airlifted to Vanderbilt hospital and after several surgeries the doctors were left with no choice but to amputate his left leg above the knee this morning. I reached out on twitter to several Vols for help and encouragement for the little guy. I got a response from Mo Couch, who asked for his information. Mo gave me a call and then called Sam's father. He couldn't talk to Sam because at the time he was in surgery. However, Mo offered to call Sam tomorrow, and he definitely will. He has offered to help out my family any way he can and even publically tweeted to everybody and requested that VolNation show their support for Sam!
Sam is awake now and in good spirits and cannot keep from smiling as he has been informed of Mr. Couch's deeds. Mr. Couch turned the darkest day in my cousin's short life into one of the brightest. Sam played defensive line and Mo is his hero. Now, thanks to Mo, my uncle and cousin have a positive memory that will be with them forever!
If anybody else has any connections in the AD and can offer similar support, please let me know. We will be having a benefit horse ride for Sam at a date to be determined where we will have a silent auction. Any Vols items you could donate would be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go directly to Sam's medical expenses. Thanks for reading
