MLB Road to the Show Thread

i am now in year two with my red sox first baseman and after a quick call up to the show in the rookie season, i ended up 3rd in ROY voting with only a .256 BA and 3 HR. Simming spring training seems to be the thing not to do. after being starting DH/1B for the red sox in my first year i'm now backup 1B in AAA Pawtucket. first game of the season coming off the bench for a 2 run single in the 7th and a solo HR in the bottom of the 9th for the game winner. after 8 games i'm batting somewhere around .456.

I'm starting to get pissed. I simmed spring training and ended up as a MRP for West Tennessee(AA). I am about two months into the season and have pitched 30+ innings and my ERA is <1.00 and I still haven't broke into the starting rotation.

how are you on your game goals and monthly acheivments? it seems to me that the better you do on the acheivments you better the career goes as far as moving up in the rotation.

Doing good on all of the goals and achievements. I even did the manager interaction thing and asked to be moved into the starting rotation and was shot down and told to keep doing what I'm doing. I think the manager hates white people.

so i take chance at getting on with the red sox and start up a 1b and select him to play for boston. a so-so spring gets me started on AA, which i expected, and have a pretty decent season going hitting roughly .350. an injury in AAA gets me the call up where i'm the starting DH. i hit in the low .300 until late may where i become the staring first baseman and hit a bit of a slump. just as i start to come out of it with an 8 game hit streak i get the call up to the show in mid july as youkalis has broken his ankle and will be out for 2-3 months. i look just stupid in my first 3 at bats but at bat #4 in the top of the 9th, a 2 run hr to opposite field wins the game for us. i'm finally in a full on hot streak, according to the game where although it's only 3 games i'm hitting .357 but in effect i've got an 11 game hit streak. i love this game! starting DH for the red sox 3 1/2 months into my first season.

here is to hoping that life imitates video game

utvol, i'd go with the fact that he just hates white people and jtrain, i'd lean towards the fact that you just suck at the game. lay off the midget lesbian nun wheelchair porn and you might get better with it.

Go figure. I get home to know and get bumped into the starting rotation.

Got a win in my first start, I went 7 innings and gave up 4 hits, 1 run, and struck out 5.

i started year two with red sox 1b Douche Bag or better known to the fans as Sparky Bagget and after a month of lights out play batting a stout .436, i hit mid june and somehow managed to kill 90 points off my BA over the course of last weekend. just after the all star break, which i didn't make regardless of my .321 avg with 8 hrs, i think the slump is over and at just the right time. heading into the home stretch of early august sparky is batting .422 over the last 10 games.
