MLB 2K9 thread

Well I picked up MLB 2K9 at midnight last night and played all night (GOD I AM PAYING FOR IT RIGHT NOW AT WORK). Anyway I am very happy with this game and after the junk that they put out last year, this game is a very big step in the right direction. I would not pay too much attention to the early reviews for this game, because imo it is pretty darn good. The only thing that is a glaring problem with me at this point is the online league and the fact that only user controlled teams will be in your league. There is talk about a early patch that will change this, but I dont know if they can patch something like that. This game is great and before you write it off, at least give it a rental and judge for yourself.

So bearcat, i go lay down $60 for this after work, am i going to hate you? Basically, are the menus better than typical 2k, and is the demo gameplay a good representation of the real deal?

If it's labeled a "league" then I wouldn't expect much more. That's the way Madden was too.

I would say drop the 60 bucks, it is well worth it in my opinion. But you could always give it a rent and try it yourself. If you have played NBA 2K9, the menus are pretty much that same for MLB. The demo gameplay doesnt do the game justice imo. It is so crisp and beautiful and plays very well. The atmosphere in the game is wonderful and it seems to get very intense in those certain situations that you need that clutch hit or that shut down pitching. I really think that you will be happy with it all in all. I think Mason is getting it today, so maybe he will post what he thinks about it as well before you drop that cash.

Just bought it and played it on my lunch break. Great graphics but it's going to take me a little while to get used to it.

stick with the total control pitching, if you use the button style, you will not do near as well imo.

That might be a good idea. I love the game but most people I have talked to, dont like it that much. I dont know, maybe I am easy to please, but like I have said before, I am impressed with this game. I havent put it up agaist the show yet, but I sure it will fall short of it.

Not sure yet JZ, I played for about 6 hours this morning before work but pretty much just checked out online play, and worked on my franchise. I will look closely this afternoon after I get home from work if I dont pass out from exhaustion before then.
