MLB 12 The Show

Played in a battle last night in my online league. Game went to the bottom of the 14th when Chipper hit a GW RBI single in the gap. The game started to wrap up and you could hear in the background one of the broadcasters away from the mic say "better get out of here quick before they turn the lights out". I thought it was pretty funny and a very nice touch to a game that seems to have all the little things.

Im about to deal away Martin Prado in my online league....cant hit for **** with him. Currently batting .156 with him and still struggling after I shifted him to 7th in the order from 2nd. Just about to close a deal that would bring back Jeff Francour for Prado. Also trying to make some moves to bring in another right handed power bat because I am getting killed going up against left handed pitching.

I hardly ever play this game online and the one time I did last night, hitting was absolutely horrible.

I had the nats, and got struck out 14 times by Hanson. But I one-upped the guy getting 16 k's with Strasburg lol

It seemed like if it was a fastball, you had to swing as soon as it left the pitchers or you were super late on it..so when he threw off speed I looked like a fool and it had a lag whenever you swung.

Is the lag normal for y'all? I have good Internet connection with high speed dsl and none of my other games lag at all so I know that's not the problem.

I have absolutely no issues at all with lag. Probably your dsl since its normally pretty slow. I have cable at 60dl and 25 up and have no problems at all. Are you hardwired or do you connect wirelessly? Also you need to go into your user settings for online and set the hitting to all pro and pitching to HOF. Set these to your play now settings and it will only find games or make games with these settings and it makes it more difficult for pitchers to paint corners and thrown unrealistically and also makes hitting a little easier.

Just got this game. Absolutely love it. The realism...dear God...though I am slightly disappointed in player tendecies. Why is Tim Hudson throwing a 96 MPH four seamer? LOL. But that's no big deal.

I suck at hitting though. Any pointers?

What rosters are you using? Adele has his proper pitches on mine. Did you update rosters? With hitting, you are going to have to focus on the release point of the pitcher and just practice. Also a thing that I have made sure to do at every at bat is take until I get a pitch for a strike. I normally get worked into a 2-1 count and have a better percentage because of it.

Just regular The Show roster I believe.

Really? I usually have gotten first pitch strike. I also try and be patient when I play baseball video games.

Of course, facing Johan Santana, RA Dickey, and Josh Johnson hasn't helped.

I always take the first pitch.......I think my BA online is .290 and my team averages a .335 offline franchise. Only time I will try and turn the first pitch is if say Im batting with Chipper and its his third time up and I am batting against the same pitcher and he threw first pitch strikes the two at bats Chipper faced him earlier.

If you are still having trouble hitting, I suggest searching theshownation.com website and/or Operation Sports

I've gotten a little better. It's not a big deal. I just suck right now lol.

In the spirit of the upcoming NCAA tournament, I busted out my PS2 and MVP 07: NCAA Baseball. Hard to believe that the PS2 used to be THE thing.

Quick question, while looking up why they didn't make one for 2008, I read that EA had to quick making MLB games after 2006 because of some kind of agreement. Licensing or something?

Why then were the makers of The Show able to start up a MLB baseball franchise? EA's agreement/contract is up after 2012 and with the 2K series now dead, lots of rumors out there about them getting back into it.

I loved the college baseball game, also played the Show last night for the first time in a month. Forgot how bad ass it is.

EA will more than likely make a return to baseball after next year. 360 users will not have a baseball title for the upcoming year.

MVP Baseball was good. I'm curious to see if EA does a good job on it or not.

I was playing MVP 05 up until I got a PS3 for The Show two years ago. That series and ASB were the best baseball games on the market back then.

Threw my first no-hitter last night in franchise. Alex White went 9.0 IP, 15 K, 3 W, 0 H, 0 R. Was the best pitching performance I have ever had.......and it was against the Reds :)
