MLB 09 The Show

IMO hitting is more realistic in '09....You have to work at it and build or character up in Road to the Show mode

was it difficult to get used to, though? i have actually not ever played the road to the show mode on '08, and typically stick to the franchise mode. is there a batting assist if i can't get good at it? i am just afraid to throw down the cash to get '09 and not have near the fun as '08.

I'm on an upward swing now with my batting average. Once you get a month in and get you stats up it gets a little easier. I'm now above .2 finally for my average :)

Training is the same as last year, but they added batting practice which happens about 3-4 times per month. You get points off of hitting almost anything in practice. If you knock a solid ball into the outfield you usually get 3pts for vision and 3pts for contact. However if you miss the next pitch you will lose 1pt in each category that you just gained in. Also I was lucky enough to knock one out during practice and you get 10pts power added doing that!

Also a word of advice....

Say you get your required training done for a series early. Save your points and stock pile them for your next series. Don't waste them because your hitting coach may change from hitting to bunting. So if you stock pile your in good shape for the next series.

Let us just get one thing out of the way, MLB 09: The Show is the best next-gen sports game yet. It is a must-own title, and anyone who is even remotely interested in baseball should consider checking it out.

If you are a fan of baseball, will be a fan of baseball or have ever in the past thought about being a fan of baseball, you owe it to yourself to at least check out MLB 09: The Show.

This game currently represents the pinnacle of the genre we cover at OS. There is no other game that touches it quality-wise. It has been almost two years since a game earned a score above a "9" at OS, but that streak is now over. If not for the many little bugs, the online mode issues and the clunky franchise interface, the Show would have been rated as a 10.

Damn Sony pisses me off.
Dust a few of those bejie's in your wallet off and pick one up, I think game play is so much better, I long for the days when you were screaming profanity into my earpiece so loud that I had to tell my lil girl to leave the room.

I just had my best game...

AB | R | H | RBI | BB | SO | AVG
5 | 2 | 4 | 4 | 0 | 0 | .210

3 RBI came from my 2nd HR of the season. I also backup my HR with a double, and ended up with 120 training pts with that game.

I'd like to welcome Mason to the Show. He buckled under peer pressure and bought a PS3.
