We've played the #4 defense, #5 defense, and #10 defense (Bama, Florida, Georgia, respectively).

We scored 14 on #4, 27 on #5, and 38 on #10.

Just some food for thought. We also didn't have a Special Teams or a defensive TD on any of those 3, that was all our offense.

If we show up to play, we win and cover.

I agree. If we show up and Dobbs can
actually run the ball we will win. Hopefully we are prepared and focused.

BURNT by the Poobah. Seriously though, I think we come out clicking on all cylinders and put Mizzou away early. 17 point lead will be enough to close this game. Defense will be fired up and offense will not stop if Dobbs is/stays healthy. High tempo-quick striking offense will be back.

This is the game our offense needs to shock us all. Just have their way moving the ball and scoring. I doubt it'll happen, but it'd be nice.

Ummmmmmmmm, I think history has shown us that every VOL fan should have major pucker factor going when we have a 14 or 17 point lead. Especially considering this will be an emotional game, at home, for them. I trust no lead lower than 35 points with 1:00 left in the 4th quarter.

BSiA better earn their paychecks and have this team ready and focused to pound a mudhole in Mizz... no excuses.... this is what they get paid to do and we have a better team top to bottom. I don't care if its a blowout or win by one, there is no excuse why we cannot get the W unless we get out-coached..... AGAIN.... so folks better not come on here afterwards if we happen to lose making excuses and saying we "are still bowl eligible and there's still Vandy"... we have more talent and should be ready and focused.... This is just as much a challenge for this staff to get these kids ready this week because the other team will play with emotion for 4 quarters and its the staff's job to weather the storm, make adjustments and WIN.

We broke the 17 point lead curse Saturday vs N Texas!

I felt really good about this game until the offensive performances UT has gotten over the last two weeks. Now... a lot more uncertain.

They are riding a emotional roller-coaster, first whatever was going on out there with the school and then Pinkel with heath concerns retiring and coaching his last game at home against us.

Make no mistake about it, this will be a dogfight IMO that can go either way.

Edit: If Dobbs is still banged up and doesnt get to his stat of 8-1 record when he rushes 48 or more we will be in trouble.

So don't you come on here b@tching and moaning if we win by 1.

They've shut Dobbs down both times they've faced him. Hopefully this year will be different.

They didn't shut him down his freshman year. Completed a freshman program record 26 passes, threw for nearly 250 yards, was the team's leading rusher with 33 yards as well. Would've thrown about a 40 yard TD pass as well if Josh Smith hadn't dropped a perfectly thrown ball on a skinny post from Dobbs.

That being said....yes, they pretty much shut him down a year ago.

It's odd that some of our best offensive performances have been against the best defenses we've played but some of our worst performances have been against the worst defenses we've played (SCe and UNT).

I don't see much good news in Mizzou having the 8th best defense, especially with this being Pinkel's last home game in Columbia.......Vols will have their work cut out for themselves come Saturday
