Mizzou game (in light of recent developments)

Boggles my mind how kids, especially ones who are going to 100% be in the NFL making millions in a few months go and do this. Absolutely stupid. Also typical of Tennessee about to turn a corner yet again and have this kind of sh** happen. Unreal!

my sentiments exactly, it is mind boggling

Missing our center, mlb and safety. The guys that make the calls and adjustments. Not good. And filling with true freshman or no experience. In the game of the year for us.

I say our coaches still have this them ready. Everybody thought Georgia wouldn't win a game without gurley cause he was their offense, but they did. We've got talented young guys to step up on defense. They'll be ready.

The freshman are better players. Reeves-Maybin will get the calls in.

Its begins and ends with their running game.. We have to take that out of the equation and make Mauk beat us with the pass. They have a pretty good one two punch at running back. Their line runs the ole Redskin counter trey just about constantly. They like getting to the edges.. You have to be gap sound against them and not get out of position, or that little greasy running back is already into your second level. They are a well coached team..

1) did you go to college?
2) were you known nationally?
3) did you ever have sex with a drunk girl?
4) might she have regretted it the next morning?

Too early to judge AJ.

Sounds so innocent, doesn't it? And yet the other 84 guys on our roster somehow are able to avoid this kind of situation.

Or maybe there have been countless other instances that have been swept under the rug from all other 84 players. Or maybe none. No one will ever know what everyone is doing all the time.

What situation? Having sex with a girl? I'm sure the rest of the team are celibate or only have consensual sex after signed affidavits are exchanged.

At this point, we don't know anything beyond an allegation, and assuming he's guilty because he's been accused is as foolish and wrong as assuming he's innocent because he's a VFL.

If this team that has starting playing with Fire and Confidence, loses that confidence, we lose.

If Butch and Co. can somehow keep that fire going, then we can still win!

Some big "If's" though. JMO

May not matter though, just beat Vandy and get to the dam bowl game!

Would love to see all this evidence that points to TKJr being better than Randolph with all that playing time he's had this year as a starter...

Can't replace experience. If he were truly better or at least ready to go at this point he would have been the starter.

This seems awfully opportunistic given that we play our last hardest game this weekend. Take two guys out of our defense before the game.

this game is going to be a loss more than likely now, they will run all over us.

You were going to make this statement even without the AJ situation. Here's hoping that Chris Weathered and JMR can rise to the occasion.

Missouri has a couple of things going for them in this game. One is the fact we've lost some good defensive players suddenly. The other thing is they has some very fast rush ends and we have terrible tackles. Those are not good things.. Dobbs will have to use his feet in this game and we have to hope the fill in guys play sound football.

I like AJ. But I think we're going to find that he's not quite as hard to replace as you think.
Not knocking AJ, but I too do not think this is that a hard a task...Also for all of you who think our chances have just dropped, remember this is a team not one individual. This group of athletes will be more than ready to play if this has really happened!

Geez you chicken littles are astounding...if you told me Dobbs was out and Peterman was in you would have me folding my tents. The fact that someone on defense is out is of no particular concern to me...others will take up the slack... Vols win...now climb off the ledge boys.

If AJ doesn't play, we lose.

You would have predicted a UT loss anyway... so nothing much changed.

Unless AJ's plea deal somehow includes a reinstatement of DGB.... Mizzou will still lack offensive talent.

UT would be in 4-2-5 all night anyway. More than like Maggitt can play opposite JRM without a huge drop off.

By and large Mizzou's pass rush is slowed when the opponent runs it well. Dobbs will be by far and away the most mobile QB they've faced which will also slow their DE's. You can be sure that they'll spend most of the week talking about rush lane discipline. Dobbs ability to escape and extend plays also hurts their secondary. They lack athletes and play a very disciplined zone scheme much of the time.

Missouri has a CB out who started the first 9 games of the season and has 3 INT's. He was indefinitely suspended 8-9 days ago and I highly doubt he plays this weekend. His name is Aarion Penton. His backup, John Gibson, has experience but has 0 INT's on the year.

I'm only mentioning this because they have their own excuses.

Weathered had a nice stat line against UK with 4 tackles including 2 solo tackles. I thought he was injured during the UF game and haven't seen him much since, but he's played in a couple games. He's explosive off the edge and I hope he has a great end of the season.
