Mizzou Defense

People are always going to go off the last thing they saw. Just the way it is.

I know this...right now "Astro Dobbs" is struggling against a very well coached defense...lets hope the Albanian will make some kind of adjustments to help him out bc you can bet their DC will make adjustments to stop Hurd.

The Offense struggles and that is a stinker, we are lucky the Special Teams is doing well because we would be hurting, actually, they have scored all of our points thus far.

Were driving, until that good pass to fresh Josh Malone, dropped. Not too bad against that D.

Funny how you predict the near-future, based on past losses of ours this season such as OU, Ole Miss and Florida when Dobbs did not play a snap. He is our QB now and I'm sure you have noticed ... we are a much-different team from what we were.

But even without Dobbs, we dueled GA pretty dam close, unlike Mizzou's 34-0 loss to them -- that was more of a "curb-stomping" than any of our losses.

I think this will a good tough game. But -- despite our recent loss of Crowder, AJ and Randolph, I just don't see enough reason for anyone to squall that Mauk's team is probable to beat Dobbs team in Knoxville Tennessee. Not seeing it. Bring it on.
Hmmm,
I guess some folks ought not run their mouth. I said UT would lose. They lost. For the exact reasons stated. Jones is an overrated, over hyped, highschool coach.
This team has beaten no one of consequence. No one.
Losing record, needing to beat a crap hole Vandy team to get to .500. If you think that's improvement or impressive then take a leap. It's crap football. Brick by brick

Qft

does someone on here know something about the mizzou defense that no one else in the college football world knows? I mean all of these predictions where hurd is gonna rush for 100+, dobbs is gonna run for 70+ etc. Make no sense in a realistic way.

The mizzou defense is no joke. They will scheme to stop the run and force us to beat them with the passing game.

I hope hurd runs all over them and dobbs does the same, but the reality of it, and the stats bear it out, that its not likely to happen. Especially with a backup center starting and the other injuries across the oline.

Mizzou's defense may not be as good as alabama's, but they are much, much better than uscjr and ky.

I'm not saying we'll lose, i'm just saying its not gonna be the cake walk everyone here thinks its going to be.

It just blows my mind at how football stupid some of our fans and members are here. Most simply spout off at the mouth based on emotions instead of actually knowing and understanding football.

Watch your mouth talking about your brethren. You made a good call so don't be an azzbag blowing your own horn. Humility always works best.

Jones will be fine. He's making strides in recruiting. The team is outmatched tonight. Like you, I'm tired of losing. I wish the moron Dooley would have been fired after the 2011 Kentucky embarrassment. That would put us one year further along.

Your best response is "you're an idiot." A personal attack? I think you basically defined the term in your response.

I'm not going to waste my time in listing all of the improvements that CBJ has brought to our program. If you don't see it, understand it, get it...you are what you are.

Yeah, your probably right. To hell with it! Think I'll just be an azzbag for the time being.

not impressed with Missouri defense. We just looked bad tonight. If they can shut down Ark next week then I will give them some credit. Otherwise, we just stunk up the place. There was only one good play call tonight and that was the fake field goal. with all that field position in the first half, we should of put that game away early. We gave that game away. We would of lost to Ky tonight the way we played

First off I want to say I enjoyed the banter on this board and 2nd those of you who are bagging on Jones are out of line he is a good coach.

3rd WOW on our Defense not being very good....I totally disagree with that....Our offense and Special teams have put the defense in a bind all year and they have played nails to bail them out!! Go back and watch the game our Front 4 abused your OL and easily had the speed and quick's to run down Dobbs and Hurd. Without our DL you guys win by a couple of TD's. If we had a half arse offense we win by 3 TD's.

Pretty much agree but our OL has been abused all year by everybody.

I know your OL is young and had a few injuries....I thought our DL might do this to your OL but I figured Dobbs would negate some of that. That didn't happen with Golden finally recovered from his Hamstring injury we are tough.

I will say this and I didn't post this earlier would look like a bogus excuse....Many point to the IU game as a real blight on our record and it is. But in that game we Didn't have Golden and we played a RS DE he got exposed....we also lost a SR OG to injury and our OL went to crap, the OC starter over compensated to help block and had about 12 bad snaps and we also Lost DW#8 WR to injury that game...

The UGA game our offense still was reeling with the Loss of the OG and WR, MM went to crap had 5 Turnovers and the Def. was on the field as I stated 43min.

Don't get me wrong we are still a very average team but we are not as bad as some think. Sometimes it seems like everyone believes we don't have injuries or bad luck and we WIN with Four Leaf clovers and Rabbits feet.

Very prescient observation made 3 days ago. I might have said something very similar myself, but I decided a while back that there was too much silliness on these chat boards to take any active part anymore.

Do you think this OLine is really going to be much better with age and experience? I do not. I think Robertson can develop into a good OG, but these other baby-faced softies lack the toughness for major conference FB.

I kid you not. I watched a play when one of these guys completely whiffed a block on one the Mizzou linemen charging after Dobbs. Dobbs was able to change direction adroitly and the Mizzou lineman stumbled forward onto the ground. It was at that point that our cream-puff #6- (number omitted intentionally) noticed him down on the turf. He then bravely ran over to him and proceeded to block him on the ground whereas he had completely whiffed on blocking him when he was on his feet moments earlier. I laughed at the pathetic spectacle.

It's going to take more than this OLine coach to coach this group up. This OLine would probably be adequate at Rhodes College in Memphis under a some hard coaching aimed at toughening them up physically and forcing them to adapt to some mean practice drills.

Mizzou was too physical for this team. They are industrial blue collar 3 stars that wear tattoos and love to brawl on the ground and get dirty. I'm betting they will overpower us again this time next year too.
