"Hey guys, a quick note on the commitment list...
Hey guys, the commitment list is about to change as we are going to have to take Dimarya Mixon off of the Rivals commitment list even though he's already admitted to school, taking classes and a part of the team.
The reason being it's in the Rivals rules that a player that signed with one school, sat out a year and didn't play the next year, as Mixon did, should not have been reassigned a new profile. The thought is that he is treated like a transfer student and not a juco or prep school guy.
With that being said, I misunderstood the rule this fall because Mixon was taking official visits and wasn't like a normal transfer student because he never enrolled at Nebraska and so I created a profile.
Rivals rules state that every player in a signing class must have a ranking and since there is no new film of him there can't be a new ranking, so that's why he shouldn't have a profile as well.
This one is on me and I'm sorry for the confusion I've created and will create moving forward.
Now, Mixon being removed from the commitment list will not have any bearing on Tennessee's Rivals ranking score. But, it will actually help their average star rating some.
This is obviously an usual case but we just thought you should know.
We are adding Mixon and the other newcomers to the roster tonight and cleaning it up so you know he is on the team here on the site.
Again, my apologies for getting this wrong and hopefully I have a better understanding of the Rivals rules moving forward."
