You know its ok to talk about traditions, but what about the people are there now they cant put their stamp on the University also. When you talk about traditions some good some bad some come and some go. If these kids and coaches can't add to the experience on and around the campus of the University of Tennessee who are they playing for. What I am saying is it is not all about the older generation and I love it when a coach has the BALLS and faith in the team he has put on the field to go for it on 4th down.

If we win....they'll come.

As for the blue hairs...... keep cheering.

Be respectful..... but keep cheering.

i cant believe that people left the south Carolina game because we wore black jerseys. what kind of BS is that. Way to support your team jackasses. i wish i could have been there, i would have given those so called fans immortal hell. i wouldnt matter to me if we wore pink jerseys, as long as we won the game. thats the only thing that matters to me. we have some of the worst fans in college football. it drives me crazy to listen or read what some fans think they know about football. aaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!:banghead2::banghead2::banghead2::banghead2::banghead2:

We are entering a new era in UT football, so the "old timers" need to understand their are going to be changes in attitude, playcalling, and once in while uniforms. Once we starting winning everything will be ok. Also we are use to players getting arrested are they upset about not happening?

They spoke of tradition in regards to the hatred toward the black jerseys. They commented that this isn't Tennessee football when we went for fourth down.

but having 5 win seasons and going 10 consecutive years without an sec title is?

Trust me, if I could afford it, I would be at every home game. Sadly, I've only been to Neyland once, and that was a field trip in 4th grade. That's when I became a true vol fan, though.

True. If I lived closer I would go to every game. Its a 4 hour trip one way for me and still make a 2-3 games a year and NEVER leave early. I stayed the whole game when lost to wyoming.:jpshakehead:

Success will lead to louder, bigger crowds. Seems to me that only a few months ago, there was a thread on here discussing the loudest game you had attended. Many posters claimed the 2004 Florida game and the 2006 Cal game. We're talking about games that happened in the last 5 years folks. Don't tell me we can't get that excitement back again.

I'm diehard Orange as they come. As an alum and season ticket holder, it annoys me that people attend without being INVOLVED in the game. They need to realize that being a fan means much more than signing a check every year to get some tickets to something you treat as a social event. Tailgating is for socializing...when I walk into the stadium, it becomes business :rock2:

Well if they hate it so much then why dont they give up their tickets? Id be wiling to buy season tickets and I bet there are plenty of others that would as well.

you know something else I am tired of...#1 the students not showing up to all the games, rain or shine the students should be there. I get so sick and tired of looking over in the student section 10 min before kickoff sometimes and it being half full, trust me the booze will be there after the game...Memphis or Florida you guys need to be rockin and rollin. #2 Im tired of the people just sittin there and waiting for something good to happen, then giving a tennis clap, what the crap!!?? we should make every team that comes to our house be afraid to play here. this past Saturday it was like a loud high school game....if Tennessee Football claims to be back so should the fans

Agreed. Everytime I leave a game, I leave with no voice.

Sheesh.... Bring back the single wing and the khaki-colored pants then.... I bet these are the same folks that got all gunched up when Dickey put the "T" on the helmet and flipped their lids when the band broke out Rocky Top....

Me too. And up to the early 90's I couldn't hear for a week, either.... I think it'll be that way again next season.... I remember being at Neyland and honestly fearing that the stadium was going to collapse from the vibration caused by all the screaming.... I want that back.... NOW!

No lie. I had that same thought when we played Bama in knoxville. After we scored the last td to put us up 16-13 that place was so loud. When Bama got the ball he got even louder, felt the concrete vibrating. My brother was right beside and we could not hear each other. God it was AWESOME!!!

That is more reason to scalp the tickets and make them get up and leave because YOU ARE AT A FOOTBALL GAME!!!! I have gotten seats over there and those people look at you because you are not a regular, you don't have as much money as them and you WANT TO YELL! Start the conspiracy of getting them the h#11 out of Neyland.....

When they see the players that Kiffin is bringing in with his "PlayStation play calling", black jersey's, and Lil' Wayne street cred, they will all jump on the Lane train.

Hmmm.... maybe this isn't such a bad thing.

Piss off the quiet blue hairs and maybe they'll stop attending the games.

Fill those empty seats with rowdy salt of the earth fans.

Neyland returns to glory.

maybe put all the "sitters" on one side.. and the "standers" on the other... the endzones could be for sitter/standers..
