Mizzou couldn't buy a TD a few weeks ago and now the Pinkel retirement thing has galvanized this team. Their terrible offense has just put up 20 points on BYU (same team that beat Nebraska, Boise State, & lost by 1 to UCLA, etc.) and they believe they HAVE TO WIN their game against us to get Pinkel to a bowl game in his last season (the last game is against Arkansas at Fayetteville & looks a lot less winnable for them).

I sure hope our team got all of the junk out of their system against North Texas because Mizzou is going to be jacked up for us. I hope our upper-classmen call a team meeting in the next 24-hours in order to right this ship before heading to Columbus. I don't know how I'd handle going 0-4 against these clowns.

Shouldn't be close if played at Neyland, but the emotion of everything going on at MO will make this much tougher. That said, Vols still win.

Frosh QB has gotten some reps and is improving. Pinkel wasn't SEC COY last year for nothing

Going into the 4th quarter when they were down 10-6, it looked like pretty much every other game they have played this season but they did show some fight in the 4th and made some plays in the passing game which was different for them. They definitely played better and I expected that to bring out the alarmists on here... but that is still a terrible offense and Tennessee should win. It may not be a blowout but something like 24-13. Keep in mind, the one time this year their defense faced a dual threat QB (Prescott) they looked vulnerable and allowed over 300 yards passing and over 100 yards rushing and 31 points. We just need a good game from Dobbs.

I would never underestimate Mizzou, they have a big motivator with their HC, say what you want Pickle is a good coach.

Vanderbilt is improving as well.. Their defense will be one of the top 3 we play this year, and if they can score once on D once on a trick play and once from a short field, they can absolutely shut down Tennessee.. They will physically beat Tennessee up.. MUCH more physical and Hate Tennessee more than anyone Vols play! Vols need level 10 play the next 2 games..

CroKey, I think you're exactly right. Events of the past five days have turned this into a very dangerous game for us. Team needs to be super focused.

Never thought it was a "gimme" given that we're playing at their place, their defense is one of the 3 or 4 best we'll face this year, and our offense is wildly inconsistent. Add in the Pinkel retirement factor and I think this game is almost a toss-up now.

Missouri is 4th nationally in defensive yards per attempt (4.3) while we're 68th in offensive yards per attempt (5.6). I think we'll struggle to run against them and I haven't seen enough out of our passing game to feel confident going into this one.
