Oh, we would be bowling if we had only taken down USCjr. We never were in any of the other games or close enough to come out a winner. Don't know about others, but the bowl season is just not worth watching without the VOLS being somewhere. Watching the Vandy game...we should at least be there.

We were never a 6-6 quality team. We had glimpses of that, but we were never there. We are probably 4 years from a 10 win season, and that is assuming Pruitt shows enough improvement to make it that long.

I hope more than you can imagine that we have a Tennessee team that proves me wrong. I want to see us dominate every game next year. Realistically....we are 4 years past a bowl eligible team to a realistically competitive team.

I duck hunted with a guy years ago that would always say, just as the sun was coming up and birds came into view, “I knew we shoulda gone to X spot or B spot.” I’d get so annoyed. I feel the same way about these posts... I know I’m not starting any threads, but honestly, what is there new to say right now? Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Look towards that horizon. At least there’s hope there, but not in the rear-view.

Baylor would have beaten us by 40. Glad we didn’t give Jalen Hurd that opportunity

I think at this point everybody knows that this game came back to haunt us. No need in beating a dead horse.

This is what is so discouraging about watching these bowl games that are on right now.

Vandy isn't a good team. Baylor isn't a good team. That was a horrible defensive football game on both sides. Vandy couldn't tackle to save their lives, especially later in the game. There isn't a whole lot you can say that is great about either team - the offenses and QB play were strong, but you have to moderate your view even on that because the defenses were so bad.

However, Vandy defeated us by 25 and you are right, Baylor would have beaten us by 40+. We would've scored nowhere near 38 points like Vandy did, and Baylor likely could have made it at least into the 50s in points if not 60+. We'd get crushed by several other teams that are in these games too. We were "only" one win away, but you can tell by how some of them play they'd destroy us.

If and buts were candy and nuts, what a Merry Christmas it would be...............looking back and second guessing every little decisions or play call, yields nothing but the the fact you can't let go of negative events you had no influence in, criticizing events after the fact are easy and petty, I am not saying your a bad person, but its time to let go. We all feel we are right in our own eyes (Judges)

Go Vols!

No but his team still beat us. None of us play for UT and we still take bragging rights when they win.
Haha, that's true. If we had played them and beat them the Hurd haters would have been world beaters. Lol.

Depends on strength of our schedule.

You are likely correct BUT. This team beat Ky & Auburn this season. Maybe we would have shown up to play and won the game.

Go check out the BBteam. Well worth watching this bowl season.

Look at the whole picture though. Those were nice wins, but this team was also non-competitive against Mizzou and Vandy, beat a 5-7 Charlotte team by 11, beat a 1-11 UTEP team by 24, and didn't give any of the truly good teams we played a run for their money.

There were isolated instances where we showed up and played well, but we didn't do it enough to be a bowl team. Look at the bowl games that have been played so far, especially the ones played since Christmas. Which of those teams can you say with any degree of confidence we'd beat? Not many. The only P5 teams we might have beaten were Cal or TCU given how awfully both offenses played.

Teams that lose 6 games by 25 points or more really don't deserve a bowl game. Probably a school out there that made it but some of these bowl games are ridiculous.

Besides, the way the offense performed this season and the way the defense folded like a blanket against any team with a semblance of balance on offense and a decent QB probably would have led to a bowl loss anyway.

Embrace being a basketball school now.

I just posted this in another thread...unreal that Will Muschamp is 7-0 against us as a head coach. Another OP put USCjr as a toss up for next year in another thread....I was being a bit of a negavol but stated that I have USCjr as a loss for next year until UT can prove that they can beat a Will Muschamp led team. Should of beaten them this year, last year perhaps, 2016 definitely and also should have beaten FL in 2014 when he was coaching there.

I have USCjr as a win, you are right the last two should have been UT's, but UT gave it away, maybe its been Muschamp's luck, but Pruitt will not lose two in a row to USCjr. The 2019 schedule is favorable to UT, this could help in having a November run.
