Are there any minority coaches out there that CLK could still possibly hire? Don't get me wrong, I want the most qualified coaches to coach hire and could care less what their skin color is.

But I would like to see us hire at least ONE African American coach. I really don't want ESPN or Barkely to come up with a story about how Kiffin is "racist". Plus, every SEC school would use the "race card" against us in recruiting.

It may be lame, but it's true. You know Meyer, Saban, Spurrier will definitely use it as a selling point. Plus, NY Times just printed that article about UT(not Aub.)being the example for racism and college football...this would be all we need.

let me elaborate...I could care less if our staff was all white or all black or whatever...I don't care what anybody thinks about me, but it's completely different for the university to get a black eye from some agenda driven journalist just trying to stir up some career advancing drama about a school that he's never been to and knows nothing about. I want the best for the university, and if that's having an all white staff then so be it...I just wish our country wasn't so race driven and put so much emphasis on racism especially when it isn't even present.

Who cares what they say. CLK is putting the best staff together regardless of race. How do they know that he didn't interview several black coaches and they turned him down, such as Garner. Our DB's coach will most likely be Hughes or Perry and Gonzo is the target for WR's.

I heard John Brice from Volquest on the Sports Monster and he said he thought it was very important that Kiffin hired a couple of black coaches, and was concerned that he hadn't. I personally don't care as long as they can coach, so don't shoot the messenger.:)

Doesn't matter. Barkley and others will say that there is a plethora of choice amongst the HS Coaching ranks.

You mean the drunk driving, hooker buying Barkley? Remind me why he is relevant to anything at this point in time?

You guys shoot down the OP, but having staff diversity is important. Say what you want, but having an all white staff at a southern school doesn't look good to anyone on the outside.

i would much rather have a recruiter promising me he can get me to the NFL one day than he be the same color as me.

why not play the sex card too?
hire oprah and kill 2 birds with one stone
