Dang according to Footballscoop every coach they have contacted has turned them down... They may have to go to a realistic list instead of a wish list...lol

Any idea who they have contacted?

I figured they'd contact Randy Shannon or wait for the Vikings to replace Leslie Frazier.

Tony Dungy is helping them with their coaching search. I assume he is suggesting black coaching candidates.

From the scoop:
Brady Hoke, Paul Chryst, Troy Calhoun, and Randy Edsall all have said they are not interested.

Temple's Al Golden is in the mix at Minnesota

AD Joel Maturi has talked with Troy Calhoun. Brady Hoke, Ken Niumatalolo, and Phil Fulmer.

Mark Magino? I believe that he was consulting Brewster and good friends with him, so he might not. But had heard his name tossed around for that job.

A bunch of names being tossed around on the Minnesota message board. Fulmer's is getting mentioned more and more.

If he got a job coaching the Gophers, I'll definitely root for them, too.

I don't see it happenning, but I'd like to see Fulmer coach again.

Hired Jerry Kill from Northern Illinois.

I was a student at Southern Illinois when he brought them from 1-10 seasons to the I-AA playoffs 3 straight years. Solid coach and coached NIU to a program turnaround as well. Minnesota will be quite the challenge.

Anybody with a track record of getting a competitively disadvantaged school annual 7-8 win seasons would be perfect for them. No jumping ship, though. They probably ought to go with a hometown guy.

Kill has worked his way up from being a high school coach. He has done well at all stops, but not sure how well anyone can do at Minnesota. Nice new stadium though.

looks like a good hire though apparently the minn fans disagree. not sure who they think they could get though.

This is a great example of an AD being more concerned with hiring a great football coach than winning a press conference. Kil will do just fine at Minnesota.

Solid hire. I mean, not going to get you on the front page, but, they are so down, they just need a steady hand.
