Never played it. What is the point of the game? I saw something on E3 about it, but they didn't explain it.

It will sound lame when I explain it, but oh well...

Basic premise is that you have to survive. You have to collect a bunch of resources to make tools, shelter, food, etc. When the sun goes down, baddies come out to try and kill you. When you get all the basics down, you can start being pretty creative with it. Building castles, villages, mines, etc. You definitely have to see it to understand it better. There are online servers too that seem pretty cool, but I haven't tried that yet.

It's coming out on 360 later this year too.

There are thousands of videos on youtube about it.

Played on a server for a server I frequented for a while, pretty fun stuff. I haven't played it in a couple of months. A Volnation server could probably be pretty fun.

Interested to see how the multiplayer is going to work on the 360 version.

The game is $20 bucks I think and it's still in beta. You can play the alpha version for free on the Minecraft website, it's creative mode only though.

I've always thought multiplayer would be fun, but I've been hesitant to go play on a random server where all my stuff would get stolen or grieved.

I've never been able to play the single player for it, it's just too dull for my taste. Multiplayer is where the game shines. Collaborating on building projects, checking out what everyone else is building, trolling, griefing, it's all great. Alot of servers have anti-griefing mods in place if you're worried about that.

Yeah I bet it's more fun. I might give it a try here soon. Don't you usually have to pay to get on some servers?

I've just started playing it recently. My brother in law started a SMP server that we've been doing. It's pretty fun.

I'm addicted. It's miserable. I realize that by spending hours on this game, I'm accomplishing nothing.

If anyone wants to host a server BeastNode is the best it's $7 (I think) each month for 12 players and 5 for 6 players
