Hooker hand a hefty hand in this too. But I want to yet again stress to Milton doubters, haters, and negativist factions, what we have in JoMo. He has throughout demonstrated that he is team-centric. Here is yet another example of that. It seems they want Jackie boy to avoid a Brayism of poking his hand out and risk getting the ball slapped out and an opponent gaining possession.

Hooker said after the game of what he and Milton told Jackson while celebrating his first career touchdown with him. “We don’t need him sticking the ball out over the goal line if it doesn’t call for it, but extremely proud of him and then how poised he was in the pocket on his drive. Just seeing him grow every day is an amazing thing to see. Me and Joe just try to guide him along, be great teammates and great big brothers to him.” Source: Tennessee’s depth chart for Florida game

It's really pretty simple and I think the last qb to stick the ball out at the goal line was against Alabama and I think they want to avoid a repeat of something akin to that.

1. Hooker is arguably one of the best two qb's in the league, and top 5 to 10 in the country. We are very fortunate to have him.
2. Joe who struggled mightily with accuracy and decision-making last year, has greatly improved on both those fronts -he is team-centric and I don't think there are any Milton haters that I am aware of at least among Vol fans. He would be starting at over half the schools in the SEC, is arguably the best backup qb in the league and we are fortunate to have him. He is also a strong candidate to start next season.
3. Jackson played very well in limited snaps and looks like he is also very capable, so we are fortunate to have him.
4. All three are upgrades from what we have seen starting in the past.

What a Merry Christmas it is to have 3 quality qb's in our qb room and a staff that can coach them.

I know a lot of people recoil in horror but I would give Milton a series or two each game running the full play book for the rest of the year. No questions about who #1 is... just a recognition of what he's "earned".

I think Milton will be great next year and win a lot of games while the Vols sort things out between Nico and Jackson. I'm not sold that Nico is "the man" until he wins it. Jackson seems to be quietly developing and preparing for that battle.

Hooker has hot-dogged running into the endzone SEVERAL times. He should practice what he preaches. And he's 100% correct, BTW.

I haven't seen anyone judge or hate him based on his personality or his ability to be a quality teammate, so I don't understand why there have been so many posts defending his character, especially as it is very unlikely that any of us actually know him personally. All the criticism that I and others have posted is based solely on his performance on the field, which is justified. That being said, he is performing A LOT better this season in his limited snaps.

Then you haven't been reading the posts where some folks still cling to the fact he threw too hard, shied from contact, and ran out of bounds during the Ole Miss. game. It's like they refuse to forget or let Milton and anyone else forget it. So if you haven't seen these posts, which do still pop up periodically, I can't help you. Maybe you're in denial.

Everything you listed is based on what he did on the field and not based on his character.

I'm glad Milton has developed. Glad for him, glad for the team, glad for me as a fan.

I hope we don't have to test how good a backup he is if Hooker goes down though. Ever.

Having said that, I am much more focused on our game this Saturday than speculating about the backup QB. Just sayin'.

Keep saying. I saw an article that mentioned something positive about a Vols player and I shared it. Much to the chagrin of some. But that's Ok, it's what I've learned to expect. Just verbalizing.
