Milton’s future role

Florida and Tennessee are somewhat in the same boat but got there very different ways. Tenn coaches must not have liked the QBs here already much so they got a transfer they probably promised to give every opportunity to win the starting job.
Florida gas groomed a guy for years and is the air apparent to the job but he hasnt looked good at all. The back ups both look better. I dont think either coach will stick with them.long..
ky.

Well Mullen stuck with Franks until he got hurt & UF was losing that game and slow-footed Trask came in brought them back to win and ended up a Heisman finalist. Franks transferred to Arky and Trask is Tom Bradys backup but at one time millionaire, HC Mullen had him on 3rd team.

Bailey fits Heupel's offense better than Hooker (he's a better passer) but I do think Heupel likes what Hooker can do on the ground. Bailey doesn't have that extra dimension.
That’s why I mentioned he doesn’t fit in Heupel’s eyes. For this to be effective he’s gotta be able to run

I know there are those that will want to answer the question with the response of bench warmer, I think he could still have some value.

He does well on passes to the flat and he is a bruising runner.

I think he would be great at short yardage situations as you would be working to his strengths. Maybe even a good tight end.

I could be wrong, but I think he still has value and can contribute to this team.

Heupel promised him the starting job period!! Where is the Heupel who is supposed to be a QB guru???????????????

I’m not sure whether Milton is that bad, the receivers are bad, or whether it’s a combination of both. I’ve watched some really crappy passes, and I’ve seen receivers incapable of making catches.

Wide open receivers running down the field 60 yds makes DC's nervous regardless if you hit them or not. It keeps the Safties back and out of the box. Regardless what some think our run game is better when Milton is in. CH's offence his receivers are lined up wider so you better have a QB who can make a strong throw especially on bubble screens and quick outs. Milton can make those throws. His game management is not what got us beat. Sitting Milton and playing one of the others especially when a team schemes for them might change some minds real quick. Hope i'm wrong.
In the sec once they see he can't hit a wide open reciever downfield they will bring the house at him.If any other top team in the sec had a qb missing wide open receivers he would be on the bench. Bottom line, he has to make them plays and if he can't he can't help us. Period! So either he makes a drastic turnaround or not, if you can't hit wide open receivers you can't play in the sec. GBO!!!!

The two drops from Hyatt in the bg game are on him. The drop yesterday that resulted in Hyatt being knocked unconscious was on Milton. The ball wasn't on time and it wasn't thrown in the right location. The ball should have got there at the goal line. Instead it let the defender make up ground and ultimately cost us our biggest threat down field and a TD.

I still can't get over how far he overthrows everything on the deep ball. It's unfathomable how a gifted athlete can't execute it any better. I'd definitely never take him skeet shooting.

I wonder if Milton's overthrown deep passes has something to do with him being scared of getting intercepted. Throwing a pick might shake his inaccuracies if it's a headcase situation. Just my 2 cents....

Oh, I don’t know. Maybe the fact that HB has a 70% completion ration AGAINST SEC COMPETITION last year. Is it that hard to understand? What proof do you have that Milton is really QB1? Because Heup chose him? We saw yesterday that Hooker is better so……. Are my eyes lying?

I know, I know. But, but, but Milton is a practice National Champion QB so Heup thinks it will eventually translate to the game. Well, it hasn’t and doesn’t appear it ever will. Milton a doing the same exact things at UT that he did at Michigan.
I didn't think Hooker looked better. The offense made better plays and if Bailey was the best option somebody would start him. Why is he riding the pine if he is better?

And don't blame the system. If you know Heupel you know he changed his systems for the QBs. Drew Lock he changed his system for. Bailey just isn't worth it.

I would almost bet Bailey transfers, I am dumb founded about some of our fanbase. Bailey played last season and started some games against much, much better teams than what wr have played yet he would get killed ?The two guys apparently ahead of him have turned the ball over 5 times in two games against very suspect competition. Sure Pitt had a good O but their D is trash. They do not process the game fast enough. Hooker is good with his feet, his decision making leaves a lot to be desired. Milton........ dude just isn't a good qb. I don't think Heupel will play Bailey.

I just don't get it, Bailey looked pretty good last year, why hasn't he played? Sadly, I am afraid JH doesn't want him at UT and that Bailey will oblige him.

Definitely not a bruising runner by any stretch. He looks like he’s scared of getting hit

Hooker needs to be the starter for the rest of this season and Milton could be used as a wide receiver or tight end if he does not want to be qb2 for the rest of this season.

Also use him on last play of each half forHail Mary’s. Heave it to end zone to our tallest receivers.

So everybody is comparing Milton to Cam Newton........ the QB without a job who lost out to the Bama freshman. Cam can't throw it in the ocean.
