Anyone notice they made it a point to play over the Pride every single time the band started playing something?

Every. Single. Time.

This was my first Alabama game, so I don't know if this is their SOP, but it inspired hate before the game even started.

We should of sent some of those ushers that were harassing fans over to talk to the band.

Just one more reason to hate Alabama. A wise man once said, "the only good thing to ever come out of Alabama is I-65".

Yes, every time. We scored the first touchdown, and they played. We get a first down, they played.

Most annoying band I've seen in person.

The Pride of the Southland played over them as well......just 2 good bands having fun. Maybe there was intent there or maybe not, but our band definitely won the halftime battle, if that counts for anything!

I noticed that they were actually playing their instruments and marching at the same time last night. That was a first. They usually just use drums to go from formation to formation.

It doesn't, lol. But I told the bama fan sitting beside me the same thing and he said "By a mile! They should've stayed in the stands." :eek:lol:

Definitely never noticed it. But I was next to the Pride so that was probably why.

Someone said that the tv commentators said something about the bands at halftime. Is that true? What did they say because I was at the game.

I'm fairly sure that where they're positioned in Neyland, the opposing band doesn't really have the ability to hear the Pride, and it's certainly accurate vice versa.

Yes i noticed it too. Also they had a police escort all the way down Alcoa hwy and 140 to I 75 the motorcycle cops would run ahead and stop traffic from entering 140 at all the on ramps till their charter buses and trucks carrying equipment passed. we were following them and passed the whole convoy cops and all.

I thought the cops might try and stop us. What pissed me was the even held up traffic from Neyland dr as the got on Alcoa hwy. Why would the K town police have to escort there bama a$%'es out of town...:machgun::furious3:

I know I'm going to get destroyed for this but.......

It's just the freaking band. The can happen whether the band shows up or not. I wish they would fill halftime with more football or scantily clad women.

Flame on.......

It works the same way for the Pride on away trips, full police escort into and out of the stadium from the local state troopers (most of the time)

My step son, who is a Bama fan and was at the game, said that he thought their band was very rude and disrespectful. Said he had never seen them do this at any of the other games he has attended. It was very annoying to me as I sit in the North end zone. Couldn't hear very much of the Pride :-(

When I went to Tuscaloosa last year to see Bama and South Carolina play, their band did the same thing, I found it very disrespectful. Also they chanted roll tide roll or something like that when a SC player went down for a couple minutes. What a bunch of idiots.

The MDB doesn't even play that much at Bryant-Denny. Last year Alabama piped in a ton of music over the loud speakers.

Man it's low around Big Orange Country huh? We can't stand the visiting bands, Bob Kesling, etc. Are the smokey dogs still good? I've switched to Petro's at Neyland stadium. Not being a smart a$*, just trying to laugh to keep from crying.

It is pretty low when you're talking about who won the band half time show. Is it 2013 yet?

This shows the sorry state of our football program. A freaking band discussion and also the puritanical "f-bomb" thread.

Agreed, sad state when we talk about bands but I noticed it too. I'm usually sitting above the opposing band but was sitting in lower North end zone for Bama game. Their stupid band seemed like it played non-stop. They played over the Pride just about every chance they got. This is not by coincidence. Plus, they have about 100 more members than the Pride so it's easy to drown them out. The Pride is better at halftime but Bama's band is always better in the stands (as is UGA's and Awbarn's).

My last trip to Tuscaloosa was four years ago. A good 30-45 minutes before the game Bama split their band up into four sections and positioned them in each corner of the stadium (field level). Everytime UT tried to play anything (not just Rocky Top), the Bama band played. They plan that stuff in advance. I understand protecting your turf. If the Pride can't out-volume them in Neyland, then I wish we'd pipe in music so I don't have to hear 15,000 inbreds try to spell B-A-M-A correctly.
