Finally calmed down today. Funny, it all started over a trivia question about "God Bless The USA". She's a friend of a friend's mom and we all play trivia together on Tuesday nights at the bar(along with some others). So the bad thing is I'll see her again next week. Makes me think of quitting but don't want to disappoint my friends. I just can't stand people like her though who obviously have no clue what it is they're talking about. Afraid if she mentions it again next week I won't be able to keep my cool like I did last night. My language might become extremely profane. After all, I am the son of a sailor. :p

Brah....that's one of the best posts that I've ever SEEN on this site. When I'm told "pack your shiz where going here" i pack my shiz and go. Some of us feel driven by the job. I can say that I'm one of those individuals. I appreciate the shout out and we appreciate the support! Happy 4th to you and every Zoner in this beech!

I grew up a Navy brat so I've always had a deep appreciation for what you and the other servicemen and women do for our country. Speaking from the standpoint of a dependent, I can tell you when my dad was deployed I always knew there was a chance he might not come home. Navy isn't on the frontlines like you are, but them big ships make for great targets and they face inherent risks of their own.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of our troops abroad. I know what their families are going through and there's a bond of understanding there. You guys are the bravest of the brave. You lace up your boots and walk into a danger zone every day. People who don't understand the difference between the military and politics are quite simply idiots.

My heart breaks every time I hear of a soldier's death. That's one more person who won't return home to their parents or their spouse or their kids. That's a person who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Anyone who dishonors that doesn't deserve the privilege of living in the same country as these brave souls.

None of us can say thank you enough for what you do for us. I pray for your safety man. I hope you get to come home soon. :salute:

Obviously the Beyatch has never lost a family member in a war or had a brave soul in her family who volunteered to serve. Self centered, egotistical, narcissistic, conceited, lilly livered coward c-word. Feel free to borrow some of the more colorful adjectives I have suggested.:salute:

This is a great thread.

Here is my foster daughters boot camp graduation. It was a great day. She is National Guard right now, and in the police academy. Good kid.

Ive got an uncle who survived the Bulge, and Walled City (phillipines)

My grandfather made it through The Bulge.

Father was in Korea
Uncle in Vietnam

Proud of them all. Proud of everyone who serves, and thankful as hell.

Celebrating today by watching my favorite series Band of Brothers..

I have been renting a DVD about once every other week. I am addicted to it. I made it through the Battle of the Bulge....and just last night watched Episode 8???? The last patrol????

Fricken awesome series. Even more cool knowing that my grandfather and my uncle were both living the same exact experiences at the Battle of the Bulge. Very well done.
