I'm sick of DeBord's 1980s-style Big 10 play-calling. One of the reasons we fall behind every game is that he starts every game with conservative play calling--two Hurd runs, a swing pass to Kamara and a punt. We do nothing offensively early in games.
The only time our offense clicks is when we're behind by 14 and Mr. Big 10 opens the playbook and starts using all our weapons. Did we even throw a pass to a TE today? How many passes did we throw to Malone? Dobbs didn't even run the ball once in the first quarter.
And whenever the game is close, he is conservative. If the florida game had been close in the 2nd half, do you think we'd haven been throwing downfield to Malone and Jennings? Hell no! We'd have been running and punting and probably choking late.
How about using all our weapons from the start of the game? How about a little creativity from the start.
UGA was playing the pass really well all game. Then Hurd can't secure a TD pass. Croom can't catch. Josh "best hands" Smith can't catch a TD pass that hits him in the hands. Heck, even Jennings dropped an easy pass in the 1st half.
I truly feel sorry for people who can't enjoy a win like this. There has to be a screw loose to go negative after a win like that. Personally I'm still smiling![]()
No we're saying that something that happens once every couple of decades should be enjoyed for longer than an hour before making an ass out of yourselfYou think because we're 5-0 that everything is fine and there is no room for improvement? You think we're going to keep winning like this? Get real. The point is, how do we get better so that we can KEEP winning against the better competition that is coming.
And the way we do that is to play better offensively from the start--but that means opening the playbook from the start and when the game is close. Louisville just throw a long pass to its TE on 3rd and 2 against Clemson in the first quarter, to get the ball to the Clemson 2 yard line. You think DeBord would do that? It's not about our record. It's about using our talent so that we don't fall behind by 14 points every game.
What blows my mind is that fools like you think the coaching staff doesn't realize this. You somehow believe you have this radical insight that would totally change our whole season around. You somehow think that the coaching staff consciously want us to go down 17-0. If we don't make it to Atlanta then maybe you can post.. actually better yet don't post then either. You think because we're 5-0 that everything is fine and there is no room for improvement? You think we're going to keep winning like this? Get real. The point is, how do we get better so that we can KEEP winning against the better competition that is coming.

Sorry you have no clue. It is real sad.

I think it was the right call. Had our db not give up they would not have scored. He was in position but just slacked up, kinda like Hurd. Anyways we still won in the most exciting way in my life time!!!!!!Only series that irritated me was the series before the winning touchdown. Kamara 3x in a row and no 1st down. With right at two minutes we gave GÀ the chance to throw that touchdown and put us behind with less than 10 seconds. Stay aggressive and get just one 1st down. I think he gets conservative and a tad predictable and it puts us in very tight situations.
