Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

I'm an Aggie fan (I know we suck). I have been watching Leach for several years now and by far he is the best coach in the Big 12.

There is no reason that Tech should be good at all:

1.The Tech program is small. There are many articles that have come out over the past few years that even suggest that the program is struggling financially. There facilities are second to the worst in the Big 12 South.

2. They are in the middle of nowhere. They are 5 1/2 hours away from Dallas and that is the closest major city to Lubbock. They have a very difficult time recruiting. It may be the ugliest town in America.

3. They are in the Big 12 South with Oklahoma and Texas. They are both national power houses that get first pick of the recruits in Texas. Behind them A&M gets the next pick of the recruits. I know that they have owned A&M over the past few years, but who wants to go to Lubbock? A&M has a much easier time of recruiting being only an hour away from Houston and much deeper pockets. If you don't believe me on this then look at how there classes rank compared to others in the Big 12. They are probably behind OK State and are ahead of Baylor.

I can only imagine if he was able to go to a big time program and have a shot of getting some of the best recruits in the country. I find myself reading anything I can on the UT job because I'm obsessed with getting him out of the Big 12 South so Tech can fall to the bottom of the rankings where they belong. If UT is smart they will hire Mike Leach!

Thanks for the insight. :hi:

Maybe you should browse the "Brian Kelly" thread and enlighten some of those gentlemen with your intellect!

Thanks again!

Why would an Aggie fan open an account on a UT chat board just to sing the praises of Mike Leach? LMAO I know Aggies have no common sense. That must be it.

TRUE story. Had an Aggie neighbor out splitting logs for the fireplace. He had the proper tools and couldn't figure out why it was taking him 30 mins to split a log. It would have helped tremendously had he stood the logs on end as opposed to laying them lengthwise.

When you asked the question did you mean play UT schedule with Leach's players or UT's players?
I simply mean that I think we could do alot worse. The main challenge will be to compete immediately with what , quite likely, will be a scaled back depth chart. He seems to have that part of the job description down pat.
As I said, I'm no bandwaganeer. Just saying it sounds like he would be exactly what "the doctor ordered" in some key ways. :hi:

I agree. I would probably join Buckeye Nation if they were flirting with Meyer! :)

At this point, with the big names falling like flies all around us, I'm becoming more and more open to Leach, pirate statues, fake Van Gogh's and all. The final selling point for me will happen this weekend against OU. A win there and I will feel a whole lot more comfortable.
Me too !! :hi:

I would rather we get leach than kelly - if it came down to those 2 choices... i can see the headline now "vols hire vince gill"

I don't have to tell myself anything. The poster told me!.Maybe you should read a little closer before spouting off!

Stay with me here......
1.A poster creates an account on a board without a direct interest.

2. He immediately disses "his" team.

3. He then tells us to support Leach.

4. He never posts again. (so far)

Nothing fishy about this to you?

I think they both have the right tools to be very good at ut. Who do you think gets the edge.
And have either made a statement about the job?
Hamilton said keeping it a secret is keeping some candidates around. Brian Kelly does not strike me to be the type that cares
