Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

Fulmer was not Known for Peyton, the University was. To be honest the real person for that is Archie and Cutcliffe who had their hand on Peyton and Eli.

You're wrong yet again. According to Peyton it was Sanders. Please check your facts before you post.

I love seeing people trying to make a point by pointing out that Leach's turning 2-star talent into superstars is somehow a bad reflection on his coaching abilities

His QB's don't make it in the next level and the Big 12 does not have 1 team ranked in the top 35 defenses in the country. If TT was in the SEC this year they would not be undefeated and we would not be discussing him as a canditate. When he was at KY his offense led the SEC but do you remember KY winning a conference championship? His offensive schemes are no different then when Spurrier went to the NFL and found out that speed and a sound defense shut that crap down. The SEC is loaded with sound defenses we produce more NFL defensive players then any other conference.

Funny thing is those same people who are bad mouthing will be the first ones to stand up and claim they knew he was an offensive genius all along if He gets hired....Also claim they were behind him 100% from the start...Cracks me up

if who get's hired, and I pray your not talking about Clawson

End what?..You think because TT loses a game We'll lose interest in Leach?..Oh lord, run along to the playground young man :eek:lol:

Yes, anyone who believes in Leach is doing so only because of this undefeated season he has going. What other reason would there be to have faith in him?

Yeah thats why Eli went to Ole Miss because Sanders was there..oh wait that was Cutcliffe. Get real Peyton knew more about reading defenses then Sanders did.

I took my grandson to the o/w game in the spring because I was excited about our new offense. What we ran up to this point is nothing like I saw then. This is Johnny Majors football, 3 yards or die.

I for one could care less if the players go on to be professional bakers or ice dancers as long as they win while they play for UT. Thats whats important at this level, wins, having players in the NFL didnt help us beat Wyoming, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, UCLA, Auburn, or South Carolina.....at a school like UT, if you win, the pro scouts will seriously consider you regardless of what offense you run. They could run the fumblerooskie every play as long as it scores touchdowns and wins games.

Good God, we are talking college football and not the NFL.

Let me as you a question. Do you want UT to send players to the NFL or.............drum roll...beat Wyoming!! :eek:lol:

And by the way, just in case you don't know, TT does in fact have some NFL caliber talent on that team.

Thank You, my thoughts exactly. :victory:

at a program like Texas Tech, it takes years to build a program up to the level of winning head to head recruiting battles with Texas and OU
I mean, come on, surely that can't be disputed

the fact that he took mediocre QB's the first few years and turn them into NCAA leaders shows how well he coaches these kids up

the past 3 seasons, he's had a future NFL QB playing for him

If you're going to pluck a coach from a lower tiered program, you simply cannot expect a history that shows immediate competitiveness with big time programs. It's simply unrealistic

You look for coaches who overachieve at minor programs with limited resources.

obviously, Leach fits that description

Oh yeah, that's the funny part. What is even better is when he wins his first NC @ UT they will all say that they knew he would and that Davis, Kiffin, Cowher and so on were all their second or third choices. But man you are absolutely correct. IF he is hired just wait and see!!
