If we get Leach maybe we could adopt some of Tech's traditions......

Every year in college football some team does this. If we were hiring last year, all this gibberish would have been about June Jones, and frankly, June had more to offer. He actually did improve the W/L record at Hawaii. Leach hasn't even altered the W/L record at Texas Tech. They lost about 4 games before he got there and they continue to lose that many every year, except this one.
The Leach-coached Red Raiders' best finishes came with their nine-win seasons in 2002, 2005, and 2007. In 2002, Tech swept its in-state conference rivals Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M for the first time since 1997 and then defeated Clemson, 55–15, in the Tangerine Bowl. It was the Red Raiders' first postseason win since 1995 when they beat the Air Force Falcons in the Copper Bowl. In 2005, the Raiders opened their season with a 6–0 record, the best start since 1998, and defeated Oklahoma for the first time under Leach.
- 9 consecutive winning seasons
- 7 consecutive seasons with at least 8 wins
- 4 seasons with at least 9 wins
- 1 season with at least 10 wins
- 8 consecutive bowl appearances
- 5 bowl wins (most by any individual coach in the history of the program)
- 3 seasons completed with team ranked in the Top 25
- 17–9 record against in-state conference rivals Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M
- 45–10 record at Jones AT&T Stadium, home of the Texas Tech Red Raider football team
- Coached 1 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner: Michael Crabtree
- Coached 1 Mosi Tatupu Award winner: Wes Welker
- Coached 3 Sammy Baugh Trophy winners: Kliff Kingsbury, B.J. Symons, and Graham Harrell
- More than 150 NCAA, Big 12 and school records broken

I can't believe this is what UT wants? Where is the turnaround? It's one season with the rest about the same as without him.
Every bit of that is factually wrong utmba93. The bold part is spectacularly wrong.
And these are our postseason goals?

...its questionable whether Leach who is kind of the Jimmy Buffett of big-time college football, would fit in well in deeply serious Knoxville.
Two Leach quotes from the past:
(A) Ive specifically concentrated on not concentrating on this, and up to this point, Ive done a pretty good job.
(B) Reported by the New York Times as Leach eyeballed the cadets student section at Texas A&M: How come they get to pretend they are soldiers? The thing is, they arent actually in the military. I ought to have Mikes Pirate School. The freshmen, all they get is a bandana. When youre a senior, you get the sword and skull and crossbones. For homework, well work pirate maneuvers and stuff like that.

You mean winning 5 out of 8 bowl appearances?...That's pretty darn good...But then again, A lot of you want that coach with the 5-15 record so it cracks me up when I see stuff like thislol:
