k-town, you and I can give it up--we can't change any minds here and I honestly don't think UT has the cajones to hire someone like leach. We will be milquetoast as always

There would be no "somehow" to it.

He's been employed by one of the best coaching trees in college football.

He's been in and around football his entire life. He knows more big name coaches than Leach and Kelly combined.

Kelly has won with his fourth string QB and that is good coaching. But that and making Josh Heupel a heisman winner and having four fith-year senoirs who never started have over 4,000 yards is not the same. And losing 3 to 4 games at TT is good to me. The program is horrible. Location and facilities really hinder TT.

he seems to have that FIRE that UT needs !
he'll recruit just as good or maybe even better than Fulmer, probably better if he brings in the STUD recruiters that he's well connected with..

and I really dont know much about what he does with talent, but I've heard he's got great intensity which we desperately need..

If Fulmer had been fired last year I bet the same people would have been crossing their fingers for a Mangino hire...

Mangino has done more at Kansas that Kelly has done at UC. Kansas was horrible and he built the program from the ground up.

he has had precisely one good year...(12-1 but NO conference championship)

other than that 2-10, 6-7, 4-7, 7-5, 6-6.

and thus far 6-4 this year (with higher expectations)

looks like a familiar resume...

of the two i would take kelly in a heart beat. I know he is a good coach, but how is kelly in recruiting? (seriously, i have no idea)
