Mike Leach (Texas Tech)

Good point. My feelings wouldn't be hurt if we get Kelly,or Leach.

I think Kelly could come in and show a marked improvement right away but plateau quickly. Leach would take 2-3 years to get the guys he needs, but I think we would win more championships with him.

Based on what I have heard, I find that your assessment perfectly correlates with mine. It comes down to which one certain fans want. Who will be alright with a few years of mediocrity if the ends justify the means? And who will want an almost immediate impact? I think these choices are at the heart of the coaching candidate debate.

People that say that TT would have lost 2 or 3 games this year in the SEC are crazy. There is only 1 team I see in the SEC that is a "better" team and that is Florida. TT doesnt have Florida talent either. In fact, they dont have Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Alabama, or Auburn talent. I guarantee you they would be fighting to get into the SEC championship game this year if they were in the SEC.

So,between Kelly and Leach who do you guys/gals think can recruit the best?

Basically, what areas other than just the south can we "pipeline" into. Can Kelly get some kids out of Ohio, and the Detroit area? Can Leach tap heavy into the Texas region? I'm asking this because I truly don't know and would love some insight on it.

Leach is not perfect, nobody is. But... his brand of football can win in any conference and, it sure would be exciting.

We would probably have to wait a couple of years for him to get some players that fit his system, but it would be worth it... I think.

Leach is on the cusp of being a deity in West Texas. I don't think he is leaving unless it's to take Pete Carrol's job.

Well if Leach keeps getting his offense exposed on national TV like it has been the past two weeks then He will have the pick of the crop to play for him if he comes to UT...Did You notice how much fun those players were having last night?....That's exactly what You want right there!...That show they enjoy playing for him and that pretty much sell's itself!

Leach offense might work and who knows maybe he would bring in a defensive guru The ole ball coach just tried to out score u but Urban Meyer has figured it out.But it does help not have to recruit much except to open the door to invite the players in.

Something I just found out last is that before Leach became HC @ Tech,he was OC for both Oklahoma and TCU.

And the reasons for Leach to move to Knoxville would be?

1. 1-2 million dollar raise
2. Knoxville is a great place to live, Lubbock is a dustbowl
3. Much better facilities at UT
4. SEC competition

There's a start for you.

The guy's offense is very fun to watch, and he is #2 on my realistic list (not including gruden) behind butch davis. I would love to have this guy... as long as he wins of coarse:)

Leach impressed me last night. He is a master at finding mismatches and finding ways to get play makers in open space. The way he used Crabtree out of the back field was a thing of beauty. The play where they faked the screen to Crab and then had another screen set up for #2 on the opposite side of the field was one of the best executed plays I have ever seen.

8 TDs on 8 consecutive possessions against a top 10 team (regardless of the defense) is extremely impressive.

Leach just keeps impressing me more and more every time I see Texas Tech play. The results on the field were impressive, but did anybody notice the energy of every Tech player fan and player. That was just cool.

I watched him the last two weeks. He is a Guru for sure. I would be happy to have him other than his big weird looking head. However, I think he needs the right QB to run his O. Do we have that QB here or coming here?

I keep telling everybody, He is an offensive genius...They don't call him the mad scientist for nothing!...I really want him here...In a few years he would be torturing defenses in the SEC.

Boyd could run that offense...Leach could make him a star

maybe not now or next year, but with the exposure he is getting now with that offense, I bet high school kids all over the country are drooling, wanting to play for an offense like that.

agreed.

the offense we have now couldn't score 8 straight touchdowns with no defense on the field.
