Mike Leach, if hired, would be a foolish move on UT’s part

The way I see Leach? If we’re going to nuke the program, then nuke it like a mofo. This is either going to be great, or such a monumental screw up that it’ll be like watching people being swallowed by volcanic lava while you’re sitting in a lawn chair with a bag of popcorn and pointing and laughing at them as they burn to death.

It’s going to be glorious either way.

So Fulmer and the boosters are fighting on our side to remove Currie, and by extension Haslam.

Do you side with Currie if it gets you Leach?

Awesome display of maturity “I don’t like what your sayin’ so you should just shut up, cause if it ain’t tickling my ears it’s wrong!”... sounds like a millennial to me...

Awesome display yourself. Talk down to the fanbase you're a part of because for whatever reason you're unhappy with a legitimate football coach who can bring exciting offense and optimism to knoxville.

Having just gone through this in Gainesville, I'm not sure. UF burned a ton of money firing Muschamp and hiring McElwain, for nothing. The program would have been better off if they had bit the bullet and rode it out. The school is still paying Muschamp, Colorado State, and McElwain. And now is starting over with a new coach. I'm a Gator but have many Vol friends. This deal stinks.

Just data...............Mike Leach’s Pac-12 record at Washington State is 21-25.

Dave Doeren’s ACC record at NC State is 15-25

Butch Jones’ SEC record at UT was 14-24

Just data. In the 9 years before Leach showed up Washington State was 14-56 in conference.

We would be extremely foolish to hire Leach. Not sure if anyone remembers a 3 game stretch where his offense ran the ball little at all. You must run in the SEC. Saban isn’t lighting up the scoreboard w/ an air assault, Auburn, nope not pass heavy either.. Georgia, you guessed it, dependent on the run... w/ Mike Leach you won’t be bringing in the Kamara’s Kelly’s, & Chandler’s of the world....Really hoping UT goes another direction here, because 3 - 5 years & we’ll be right back here.

I would rather have Tee Martin, Kiffin, or Miles but it looks like they are not being considered. Leach is way better than who we rejected.

OK Von...............and he goes 21-25 in SEC play................you happy?

I'd be happier than I am now. Wouldn't be waving a #1 foam finger, No. Just saying if you're using data, than previous success should be accounted for. WSU won 29 games in 4 years under Leach. They won 29 in the 8 years before that. If you can't see that as significant improvement, you're not being objective.

Jones won 29............so what have you accomplished?

I'd rather have Tee but would be happy with Leach or Kiffin as well. Leach would actually be next best thing to Trump coaching the Vols - entertainment would be guaranteed and we would be relevant (hopefully because of winning and not only entertainment ).

Would love to have Leach. Have the people that don't want him, actually researched his record. He has won every where he has coached, at schools that are hard to get recruits. He has won against Oklahoma and beat Texas when they were #1. Plus the fans love him.

Good article about him walking to work at Washington State(link at News Sentinel page). He has turned that program around. Pullman WA is a small rural town, in the middle of nowhere.

But as someone posted earlier, doubt we will get him, because he is not a "yes-man". So Haslem will not want him. Which maybe why Currie is fired, for trying to get him.

Did Jones take over a program that won 29 the 8 years before That? No. Texas Tech was nationally ranked twice in 20 years before Leach. In 10 years under him they finished 7 times in the top 25. Am I jumping up and down over the possible hire? Not at all. Just saying both programs he has taken over have experienced serious turnarounds. With far less resources than he would have here. That's being fair.

Leach is 38-37 in six years at Washington State, a whopping 26-28 in conference.

His last threes years he has gone:
9-4 / 6-3 conf
8-5 / 7-2
9-3 / 6-3

Pullman WA is a little bigger than Morristown, TN.
With Spokane being the biggest city close by, about 80 miles away. Extremely difficult to recruit players to go there.
