Mike Leach, if hired, would be a foolish move on UT’s part

Don't call us stupid! After what we've been through this season and this clown show of a coaching search, We're just looking for something, anything to get excited about! God forbid we get excited about a coach coming in who wins and plays an exciting brand of football! Do me a favor junior, go sit the hell down somewhere and let the grown ups in the room talk!

Awesome display of maturity “I don’t like what your sayin’ so you should just shut up, cause if it ain’t tickling my ears it’s wrong!”... sounds like a millennial to me...

Great thread and Post^^^^^^. Leach will not work in the SEC. You have to run be able to consistently run the ball and consistently be able to stop the run to be successful in the SEC. I understand the Hype but Leach will never ever be sucessful and we will be back hiring a coach in another 3-5.

That's what the fools on this board said when urban went to Florida.

Im not a leach fan by any means. He is hilarious and is a offensive genius, but i don't think he is going to get us over the sec east hump. Honestly though this mentality that we have to do it like everyone blows my mind. What did missouri do the 2 years they wont the east. Something different than everyone else. The idea of being better is to separate yourself from others. Be open minded here he is better than our last 9 no’s.

I’m not sayin’ it’s gotta be like everyone else, but I am saying that you can’t ignore the obvious. Running, ball control, both are of extreme importance in the SEC. on the goal line a power running game is a must (see 1st & goal from inside the 5 for the Vols this year...)

We would be extremely foolish to hire Leach. Not sure if anyone remembers a 3 game stretch where his offense ran the ball little at all. You must run in the SEC. Saban isn’t lighting up the scoreboard w/ an air assault, Auburn, nope not pass heavy either.. Georgia, you guessed it, dependent on the run... w/ Mike Leach you won’t be bringing in the Kamara’s Kelly’s, & Chandler’s of the world....Really hoping UT goes another direction here, because 3 - 5 years & we’ll be right back here.

is that u Butch?

You know what....at this point I'm tired. Leach is better than who we could've ended up with. I pick my battles....

Nothing is going to make you happy, so just deal with it

I bet Spurrier wished he hadn't thrown the ball so much when he was beating the **** out of Fulmer

Lord have mercy

I want to know who you think we could hire right now that we wouldn’t fire in 3-5 years.

Leach aint coming. The only connection between Leach, Schiano, Brohm, etc... is that they all took Currie’s call. UT is being used as leverage for a raise.

And Washington State ain’t got the capital to give him a significant one...or one at all for his assistants.

He's old. Go after Les miles if you go the old route

Yes, I suppose 39 is old, spent all 39 of ‘em w/ the Vols. Will spend how ever more the Good Lord gives me with the Vols... just hopin’ for a respectable team & return to Tennessee football.

Wrong. The SEC isn’t a ground and pound league by any stretch. Mike Leach will kill it here.

This is fake news. The kid who he allegedly locked in a tool shed later admitted he made the story up because Leach wouldn't let him give more playing time. Numerous team mates confirmed that the kid was liar. But fake news is fake news.

Disagree... this UT fan to Butch “stop running the same play on first down 98% of the time.” “Get a fullback to block” “hire a defensive coordinator that knows how to coach defense”

Those were some of my more commonly quoted statements

Given the circumstances, how our brand is seen nationally, etc, this would be a damned great hire. Nitpick it to death if you like, but Peterson, Dabo, and Saban aren't coming. We have a long way to go before we can contend for the east and the quickest way to cover a great distance is through the air. All joking aside, any coach worth his salt can and will adapt. Leach isn't stupid and locked in like Butch. Guy can coach....really coach and in case you haven't noticed....we are in dire need of a real coach...for a change. Bring on the pirate!
