We would be extremely foolish to hire Leach. Not sure if anyone remembers a 3 game stretch where his offense ran the ball little at all. You must run in the SEC. Saban isn’t lighting up the scoreboard w/ an air assault, Auburn, nope not pass heavy either.. Georgia, you guessed it, dependent on the run... w/ Mike Leach you won’t be bringing in the Kamara’s Kelly’s, & Chandler’s of the world....Really hoping UT goes another direction here, because 3 - 5 years & we’ll be right back here.

No not a Florida, Bama, or Georgia fan... born & raised in TN been a vol fan my entire life. Just because I refuse to think like you doesn’t make me any less of a Vol fan. You can feel free to attack me all you want. I’m simply stating a fact. Leach went through a 3 game stretch w/ very few run plays. I simply think it’s a bad idea & he’s a bad fit for UT.

3-5 years from now will look basically the same regardless of who is hired at this point. The AD just needs someone that can hold our attention to keep bringing in money. If they can do that
, then we can survive to the next coach.

We're beyond the point in this search where we can be picky about the type of offense the guy runs (which I would be excited to see BTW). The #1 job right now is stabilizing the program after this debacle, not worrying about championships, unfortunately. Do we think he can consistently make bowl games? Do we think he can consistently beat UK and Vandy? Sign him up!

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. It's a misconception that you must primarily run the ball to be good in the SEC. Fans, especially the older ones will take this belief to their grave however. "Defense wins championships" and "Three yards and a cloud of dust" etc. Nothing revolutionary here.

Yes, yes clearly if someone doesn't think that Leach is the best thing on the planet then it has to be a rival fan.

Stupid fanbase indeed. God forbid someone has a different opinion.

Great thread and Post^^^^^^. Leach will not work in the SEC. You have to run be able to consistently run the ball and consistently be able to stop the run to be successful in the SEC. I understand the Hype but Leach will never ever be sucessful and we will be back hiring a coach in another 3-5.

He ran the ball more this year than ever before. He said you must adapt in this game or die. He stated that you must change based on the league your in and the players you have. I wish Botch would have learned that.

Leach aint coming. The only connection between Leach, Schiano, Brohm, etc... is that they all took Currie’s call. UT is being used as leverage for a raise.

Really? When was the last time a truly pass heavy offense won at a high level in the SEC?

I can promise you - there is nothing about Leach that even hints at "stabilization".

It's not a different of opinion that's the problem. It's your self centered, better than everyone, my opinion is the only one that's right attitude you have.

Who said anything about comparing? OP said pass happy doesn't work, showing the last 2 teams to beat Bama did pass a lot. Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Lolololollololol

Leach would be the furthest thing from stable. I’m not interested in consistently beating Vandy & UK... that should be a given. I’m more interested in consistently competing w/ UGA, Florida & dare I say Bama. Not worrying about championships is why we are where we are.

Don't call us stupid! After what we've been through this season and this clown show of a coaching search, We're just looking for something, anything to get excited about! God forbid we get excited about a coach coming in who wins and plays an exciting brand of football! Do me a favor junior, go sit the hell down somewhere and let the grown ups in the room talk!

Im not a leach fan by any means. He is hilarious and is a offensive genius, but i don't think he is going to get us over the sec east hump. Honestly though this mentality that we have to do it like everyone blows my mind. What did missouri do the 2 years they wont the east. Something different than everyone else. The idea of being better is to separate yourself from others. Be open minded here he is better than our last 9 no’s.
