Mike Keith

I don't like the Titans so I don't listen to Mike's call of the their games but I do miss him as host of Sports Talk in the 90's. His info on recruiting was better than anything we've had since and he was good at getting live interviews with our top targets. Knoxville sports talk radio has been terrible since he left for the Titans.

Ditto. To each his own, but Keith's high pitched squeal kills me.

Radio has changed for me. I don't need anyone to "paint a picture" (which Ward was great at). For me, they just have to be better than Verne (which Bob is). I rarely just do radio, 99.9% of the time it's paired with the TV.

If it's Nessler/Blackledge I'll listen, but they're about it.

Ward was not great to pair with TV. He's saying "they're at the 20,19,18" while the guy has actually already handed the ref the ball in the end zone.

I'm fine with Bob because I can see what's happening. I like Priest's color commentary as well. Andy Kelly is the weak link to me. He sounds like he shouldn't be on the radio.

Probably of the radio delay due to FCC regulations. Ward was fantastic. I tried to listen to Bob for several years and finally gave up. It's difficult listening to someone mispronounce the player's names, calling the teams the wrong name, not updating score frequently and calling plays that didn't happen. He has not a clue on penalties. Seems to cheer louder when the opponent is doing good. Much more, but I'll leave it at that.

It was not just the radio delays. You could listen to the crowd on the radio and could tell that Ward was way behind. It was a different era where the games were not on TV and you had to have the picture painted like that. Today you don't with all the TV deals and everything. Bob is not that bad. You all exaggerate everything and look at it with biased glasses. Yes, he messes up names. But I can find all sorts of mess ups that Ward did.

Bingo. Crowds were cheering when Ward had him at the 20. To be clear, I'm pro Ward. He was great without a TV

bob kessling is an asset and good at his job folks. very few radio personalities are as dynamic as Jon Ward was and Mike Keith is. We may never see another Jon Ward in our lifetime. To do what he did and how he did it, is amazing to me.

The man is an encyclopedia of facts! He is killing it on the interviews with coaches and former players.

When he was in Knoxville doing Sports Talk on the radio, he was the same way. There was no looking up information on the air, he knew his stuff.

If we're living in a fantasy land where Bob actually gets replaced, then I'd much rather have Dr. Punch than Mike.

When John Ward did the play-by-play, I would turn the TV sound down and turn the radio up. I started doing that with Bob Kesling until I couldn't stand it any longer. Now, I turn the sound up unless the game is being televised on CBS. Then, I usually don't have any sound on unless it looks like something good for Tennessee is happening!

Del Rio drops back, feeling pressure SAAACCCKKKEEEDDD by Barnett

I've got another for you. Remember when Albert Haynesworth was a Titan?

I don't think ole Bob is all that bad. I'd like to hear what some of the jack nuts on VN would sound like when the microphone gets put in front of you and hundreds of thousands of people are listening. It isn't that easy. Public speaking, whether on the radio or in person, takes some balls.

It was cool seeing Mike Keith talking about the Vols again.
Heard a rumor that he was in the running to take over for Ward but Bob K was already in a position to take it.
Bob does a great job calling the basketball just can't figure out why he can't call the football games as good.
Mike does a great job with the Titans, from the few times I've heard him.
No way he leaves the Titans but be cool if he did!

Keith Jackson was overrated imo

Really? IMO Keith Jackson is one of the best ever. I really like listening to Dicky V in BB too, but I've heard quite a few of the younger generation say they can't stand listening to Dicky V. I guess im old school when it comes to college broadcasters. Lol.
