Mike Keith Is As Good As Advertised

Also, Ramon added a lot of content and insight, even when we were playing fast! Excellent duo.

I wasn't familiar with Larry Stone, and read lots of complaints that his delivery wasn't "energetic enough."
I gotta ask... why does anyone want or need energy from the voice that's delivering information--scores from other games, background material, just pure data? If you aren't bringing some of your own excitement, what kind of fan are you?

Frankly, I found it nice to get a calm, reasonable voice as a break from the high energy, high volume, crowd noisy balance of the broadcast.

And for anyone who caught the postgame show, Larry's questions were much better than half the questions that'll get asked in the Monday press conference. He has knowledge of the game, and it shows. I hope people will listen and appreciate the quality he brings before they label him as the next bob-piñata.

I thought it was good from the parts that I heard. However,, I am one of apparently seven people who did not think Kesling was bad. I think people really exaggerated when criticizing him, because of who he followed.
I just wanted to salute your post ...before your avatar is found in a shallow grave in some remote Appalachian cove.

I never listened to a single game Kesling called during his entire two plus decade run. Of course, we all listened to Ward and loved him. However, I did listen to Keith today, as I did with many Titans games, and he did well albeit a bit toned down from his Titans calls. Also, Foster was a good balance, when Mike was with the Titans he did the majority of the talking with the color speaking very little.

The switch is flipped, the Titans radio is now dead and Vols radio is now alive.

As someone who enjoys listening to Pat Ryan and Steve Hamer (neither of whom has ever been accused of being "energetic"), I found Stone not merely "not energetic enough," but downright somnolent. I thought he compared quite poorly to our beloved John Wilkerson.

I appreciate you offering this recommendation. I'll have a listen -- perhaps it'll change my opinion.

Bob was good when he first started, but the last couple years I have been to funerals that had more energy than his play calling.

Anyone know how I can listen online? I keep hearing folks talk about how good he and Foster sounded. Should I listen to it whole watching aka mute the tv?

I tried several stations websites and apps. Could not figure out how to sync. Keep in mind I consider a toaster high tech.
I was listening via the WIVK app. The TV was about a play ahead of the radio.
I restarted the app and then the radio broadcast was about a play ahead of TV. Nothing I did after that mattered.

That’s fair, He may have stayed a little longer than he should’ve, but I still feel he’s gotten trashed way too much by this fanbase and much of it was from day 1. He never had a chance with many fans.

He was great! Did get tired of having to fast forward, rewind constantly to try and line the streams up but I hear theres an app for that?
I always wait for the kickoff to be caught and when the radio announcer says it was downed or it went through the endzone then I hit play and it seems to time up well every time.

I said it in another thread, I’ll say it hear…

I’m not a fan of listening to a pirate calling a game. But, I listen to games on the radio often and I’ll be happy to listen to Mike’s fake emphasis growling as long as VOLS are winning.
He did sound like a pirate. How in the world did he not know in the pregame when he was on the field that David Sanders was not going to play. Did he not see him in street clothes. I thought Ramon Foster saved the day.
