Either you don't read what these people write, or you don't know the definition of the word journalism. That's pretty impressive that the bball beat writer actually does his job, but it doesn't make him a good journalist. I could go watch all the UT practices, but it doesn't mean I could write a good column.

From the News-Sentinel he is the true basketball beat writer, Griffith. The others (Adams, Strange, et. al.) write as they please. The other papers' beat writers (Daily Times, Tennessean, Chatt Free Press) don't show up nearly as much, weakening their coverage.

I realize it's his job to be there, and the fact that he does it when most others don't only proves that he is the top in the region reporting-wise on the men's basketball team. If you knew anything about journalism, you'd know that the News-Sentinel is not the equivalent to Louisiana-Monroe, especially with the way the industry is changing. It's a great paper, with one of the top websites in the south.

Griffith will be in tears when they come back from commercial. Seeing his boyfriend Chavis cry will overwhelm him.

Has anyone else noticed how far up Brian Kelly's but they are over at the KNS. I swear they think he's the second coming.

lol, there might be a couple reasons for this. He's just a little closer than the other papers' beat writers. There also might be just a slightly higher demand for UT bball coverage in Knoxville compared to Nashville or Chattanooga.

The News-Sentinel is, was, and always will be a joke. There's a reason those guys make next to nothing. If they had any talent, they'd be working for a real paper. Yeah, the website is so good that they had to stop charging for the worthless GoVolsXtra content.

If they are so terrible and a joke, do you never look at it and get all your Tennessee coverage from another source? If so, you're one of the most misinformed people on this board, not to mention ignorant. People should use as many sources as possible in building knowledge, and ruling out one of the state's best papers makes you look like the idiot.

If you think the New Sentinel is a quality paper, that's your cross to bear. I don't need the News Sentinel to tell me what to think. I'm quite capable of doing that myself. Remind me of any big story that Griffith has ever broken. Gary Parrish breaks more UT basketball stories than Griffith.
