Mike Griffith On Finebaum

Griffith is a clown. Cozied up to Butch for access and now he’s trying to scare Vols fans into thinking Mark Helfrich and Jeff Fisher are our only options if we fire Butch.

It just makes me mad that he thinks hes that much smarter than everyone. He has zero dignity, no mind of his own, and professionally, he's completely traded his brain and any journalistic integrity for a smattering of Butch's table scraps.

And yet this cheap mindless hack somehow thinks so highly of himself. Does he somehow believe he can derail the sh#tcanning of Butch, by suggesting the most wild and "out there" coaching candidates? He's rubbing his chubby little hands together diabolically, like a dumpier Boris, "heh, the inbred, low info vol fans hate jeff fisher, and half those imbeciles probably don't know any other coach but fulmer and Saban, so mix that in with a totally underwhelming but more realistic option, like say...Mark Helfrich, they may remember him being a candidate for the OC job that ended up going to Larry Scott. Hehe, I'm brilliant Butch will love it."

Thankfully Finebaum actually cares about the university, believe it or not. At least, way more than Griffith does. Lately Paul has been tearing Mikey a new one. It's been hilarious. Every time that cherubic lil face, and pubescent, castrati voice makes an appearance, you just know Paul is primed to go off.

Are we 0-4?
I didn't expect to go undefeated this year.

Did you expect to be blanked at home vs UGA? Did you expect to score 17 on UMass? Did you expect our offense to look this inept after 4+ years of Butch's system with 4* athletes and skill players?

Did anyone else listen to him today? He wouldn't give Paul a straight answer on whether he thought Butch should be fired and said that Mark Helfrich and Jeff Fisher would be his first two choices to replace Butch.

The entire conversation I was thinking

I'm going to give MG the benefit of the doubt here and assume that he's just playing the heel in these segments. What he said is not completely unreasonable in wanting to see how the next few games go before committing himself, although I can also see Paul's angle that 'wait and see' is not a prediction. If Paul just wanted someone to come on and torch Butch, he could have Clay Travis as a guest.

Some are saying that his Jones worship reminds them of the fine work of former five star champion actress Linda Lovelace.
Oh, what was his point?
It's on the tip of the tongue.
Oh well, It may come later.

Lots of Fisher hate here... Not sure why... When he was hired by the Oilers they were an absolute dumpster fire, they went 8-8 the next 3 years despite not having a single true home game for 2 of those years... They then went back to back 13-3 seasons, with more success after that... If I remember correctly, from 1999-2004 no NFL team won more games than the Titans...

Fisher was then handcuffed to an absolutely gutted roster because Floyd Reese who was the GM had overpaid so many players, they couldn't keep all of them... The Titans spent several years recovering from massive salary cap hits directly due to Floyd Reese's complete incompetence...

Fisher then had Vince Young thrown on him by Bud Adams for absolutely no reason other than Vince reminded that senile okd man of Steve McNair... Vince had a terrible attitude and work ethic, but Fisher made do with what he was forced to work with...

Fisher went to the Rams and they were bad... People act surprised... The rams have been absolutely god awful since 2002... Its not all on each one of the coaches they've had... Their ownership is literally AIDs, hiring the worst possible management, and I could **** out more competent player evaluation for the team...

Fisher showed up in St. Louis and basically went 7-9 every year... But guess what, when you've spent literally the previous decade as a franchise living between 2-14 and 4-12 records, 7-9 isn't the worst thing that can happen... Fisher didn't want Goff at all... At all... The Titans are still sending fruit baskets to LA thanking the Rams for all of those picks... Just hilariously bad ownership/management...

The fact Fisher in the NFL with different QBs, rosters, and management was able to put together 13-3 seasons is pretty impressive... He's not the best coach in the world, but given the actual real context of the situations he was forced to deal with during his coaching career, he is nowhere near one of the worst coaches... To believe he is is just the exact type of weaponized autism some of you are so expert at using...

Griff takes the act of carrying water to a new level with Butch. It's injuries, lack of depth, scheduling, social media, etc.....ad nauseum... The one thing never to blame? Coaching. I'm so sick of the injuries and defections to the NFL being used as an excuse. Lack of depth? Whose fault is that? Who recruited this roster? Who didn't play the youngsters vs UMass and Indy? If players aren't developing, again, whose at fault? Who hired Beard, Hoke, Scott, etc?

We are dealing with the same sport and similar circumstances as every other sec team. This is the product Butch created and delivered. Stop trying to lay this on circumstances. Just own it and take it for what it is. Just tired of griff and his constant harping on how unfair everything and everyone is to Butch.

Hyams looks like what Opie should have looked like when he grew up. Surprised he and Ron aren't practically twins, but Hyams looks more like Opie than the actual adult Opie.

I’m in the minority but for the most part I like Mike and his stuff, but he’s way off with this lol like not even in the ball park. Jeff Fisher, while I loved him in Nashville would not cut it in college ball, he was mediocre in the NFL at best. Helfrich? Not sure on him but those two would not be my first choices.

The Rams look like a different team now that he is gone. He is not a good coach.

I don"t see the excitement I knew when I attended UT in the sixties.....Dewey Warren and Charlie Fulton era...everything was so exciting....the team was fired up as well as the crowd. The name of the game was DEFENSE. What needs to be done? Bring back the Walking horses and show some team spirit.....I have seen predicted preseason top ten UT teams finish ho-hum and end up in a no-name bowl game and it is dishearting. I love UT football but something needs to be done! Anyone....everyone... please help. Is it more money that "s needed or just more motivation? Georgia was just embarassing. I will always pull for UT, but I find it hard to bring them up in conversations ...are we recruiting players that really want to play at UT?

Griff's holding on to the access as long as he can.

I heard the interview. Paul told Mike to stop "bloviating" and give an actual opinion!
