They have never, ever been a threat to win anything of substance. They are what the Nuggets were in the early to mid '80s and the Run TMC Warriors were. All flash, no cash. We have consistently seen what happens when they play real basketball teams in the postseason. It's Sunset.I think this is an awful firing. This is the first time that he's lost in the first round and the Suns have consistently been contenders every year he's been there
why? they've had some talent, but have repeatedly proven that you cannot win without D. It's the same reason that Nash can never truly be considered the MVP - no D.I think this is an awful firing. This is the first time that he's lost in the first round and the Suns have consistently been contenders every year he's been there

They didn't make the Western Conference finals last season.Mike has made the playoffs every year that he's been with the Suns. Prior to this season they'd made back to back 2nd place finishes in the West. Grant Hill and Shaq didn't work out this season. They could have given him another year and tried to get some more defensive oriented players to get the job done next season.
Amare's decent at defense. And Nash could still be a good PG. It's just the style that D'Antoni has them play doesn't work. I'm sure both players could work fine in a halfcourt game.
