#FireMahoney should be the thread. I guess 400 yards of offense against #4 team in the nation wasn't good play calling. Can't be perfect all the time. No matter how good your calls are, if Mahoney can't protect the QB and make a hole for the RB, you are gonna suck with no offensive production.

I agree, but I have never been impressed with Bajakian. His play calling seems more suited to Jr college or High School.

They cant ...there is no blocking on the offensive line . It takes about 2.8 seconds for downfield routes to develop. We are nowhere near that .

I guess we should develop the freshmen and juco o-inemen faster ...because everybody else has great freshmen offensive linemen and we should too. We also need to get our Walk-on offensive lineman back from injury faster

Maybe when we get to the off season ...you should tap the x button faster during the training faze .

ESPN reporting that Bajakian's been relieved of his duties and Rod Wilks has accepted the OC position. All is right with the world.

What exactly does the height of the recievers have to do with an offenses potential. Croom is huge and he couldn't carry Josh smith or pig Howard's jock strap.

Then why do we not run slants? As much as every team we play blitzes our terrible o-line a slant would get 8 to 10 yards a pop and slow down the backers. Still we run vertical base routes and run three yard ins on third and 8. He makes no adjustment to utilize or help the players he has on the field.

Slow developing plays. Every play we run is too slow. We need to try to play to our strengths. Which is not much at this point. We have big physical outside WR's. We have two slot guys in Pig and Young. I really don't understand why we are not using DY as a slot guy. And I could go the rest of the year by never seeing us go empty set again.

Defense has been getting better and better every game with just as many freshmen.

Offense is not progressing, what's the difference?

You have one of the best cover guys in the sec on D. You also have an AA MLB. Also have a senior leader in Maggit. We can all agree that our O has its limits with the line. Although I cannot fathom how you cannot score td's with the gifts we were given by FL.

It starts with the lines on both sides of the ball and the D-line has been good

IMHO it's coaching and scheme. The defensive staff has shown the ability to cover weakness and lack of depth. Bajakian either 1 - doesn't have the skill/knowledge needed for the SEC or 2- is incompetent

Football is like war

First, you have to identify who your enemy is. Then, you study the enemy to find ways to beat them. You study them to find their weaknesses. Once you identify their weakness, you exploit those weaknesses in your favor. You must be a great strategist to do this. You must develop a plan of attack. You must also plan for a counter attack by your enemy.

Strategy plays a huge part in both. You just can't have a generic game plan for every game and go by it. Just like you can't have one scenario for every military campaign.

I don't see a strategy on offense right now that is being implemented on the field to attack the weaknesses of our opponents. I also don't see one that helps to mask our weaknesses and limit our vulnerability

This is what is troubling to me. Every game has been basically the same game plan on offense. We must be able to adapt to our opponents

Maybe. The problem with these games is that, from what I can tell, once we have a comfortable lead we use the game as a sort of live practice to work on the areas we're struggling on. (See: End of Utah State and Arkansas State games.) So while it'd be nice to see the full playbook on this game, we'll get up nicely and then grind on the rough plays for the second half.

We will be vanilla so that we don't show too much of our offense to Ole Miss

Saving it for them
