Mike Bajakian discussion (mega-merged)

You mean the one that scored 32 against Georgia

Get out of here with the inexperienced BS. These guys have been blocking since Jr High. You don't forget to ride just because you changed bicycles

So we want to fire the OC that put 32 on UGA?

Our Oline is hot garbage, and we expect to put up 500 yards a game or something? I don't understand some of our "fans". It's hard to call a game when you don't know what you are going to get from your own players. We haven't had many games like this with all the penalties. That makes it extremely harder. We had 2 penalties on the same 3rd down back to back one time. Penalties get a playcaller out of rhythm, plus did anybody notice the field position we had to play with, especially in the first half.

I had an old coach that would say all the time.."Can't make chicken salad out of chicken $#!%" Our oline is that chicken $#!% right now.

Josh Malone caught a slant pass today....LULZ.

Ok..oops. I was at game and missed a few plays, but the middle looked open all day...I don't understand the 20 yard screens to outside that allow a cb standing ten yards off the time to run up and make a tackle. If I were a high-school offensive recruit, there is no way I'd be excited to play in our scheme.

ok just curious... I don't have facebook or twitter, so is everybody just sending messages to TN and CBJ on twitter and putting #firebajakianin the message?? I'm curious as to how y'all plan to carry out this campaign..

THROW THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD

#firebajakian

Although Worley is the best option at QB, he struggles greatly throwing it down field. It s always a under or over throw n critical situations. It's hard to watch. He lacks the killer instinct for sure. Hope he figures it out soon....

I'm serious.

We need to start one.

Butch needs to know how we feel.

My heart hurts. Literally hurts.

I am tired of feeling this way. 14 points would have won this game.

Who knows how to start one of those online petitions?

This has to end.

It's time for the OC to go.

NO! We will be the laughing stock of the nation. Dumb dumb dumb.
The way to get something done is to stop going to games.
College football is not a democracy where petitions should be used. It would be an embarrassment to 99% of VOL fans. Just like that damned petition to fire Coach Martin embarrassed us. It would be like stabbing CBJ in the back as well.

We all want to win, but this idea of firing someone five games into their second year is crazy.

We have truly become a nation of spoiled brats that want instant gratification. It just doesn't always work that way.

This is a very hard loss to take. You have to put the ball in the end zone at least once when you are down there as much as we were today. Worley had a tough game, but the OC has called some mystifying plays at several key points this year like the empty backfield against OK that got run back for a TD. The things that concerns me is that this style of play does not lend itself to a solid ground game. You have to have a FB and or a TE to block. Hurd is going to be a great back, but has a hard row to hoe in this offense even with a good OL. Hope I am wrong, but in the SEC, you have to have lead blockers to have much success on the ground. GO VOLS!

Fire the offensive coordinator because we have the worst offensive line in school history... Smdh. Our line can't block. We're a couple of recruiting cycles away from being elite and the legions of the miserable are calling for coordinators to be fired... 6-6 was/ is the mark for this team, and I believe they will get there. The same idiots calling for coaches jobs would be saying were gonna win the east if this game would've ended 9-7.
This team is the youngest in the nation...the upgrade in talent has us oh so close....yet a good showing heart breaking loss to Georgia and better than the score showed game vs OU...y'all think we're done for the season after today?

The same ones calling for John Jancek's head after last season for being bad a Georgia DC and having struggles last season w/ Dooley-Sunseri's rejects...and now has our defense playing lights out every game.

If we had an O-line we would probably undefeated...but the hits are getting to Worley and it is starting to show. The best thing for us is to get up on UTC early and see Peterman's game for 45 minutes to let Worley rest and heal. Making a bowl is key and all that matters...a lot more football left to play this season.

He tries to hard to make something happen when there is nothing to make. I think he is following his coaching a bit too much by not doing crazy stuff such as tucking it and running when he probably should. Maybe he hasn't been given enough autonomy to make those decisions?

I have to agree. As much as the loss sucked, you cannot jump straight in to calling for the man’s job. After the season is over, you can probably make an argument if this keeps up, but I feel judgment on the man’s livelihood should wait until we see 7 games into next season.

Malone, Hurd, Von P., Helm, Wolf, Preston Williams, Kamara, Dormandy, Jennings...say :birgits_giggle: :acute:

Play calling IS his job.

Play calling, player development, and recruiting.

Play calling - borderline awful.
Player development - seems to be regressing.
Recruiting - I don't follow this much but have heard he's not doing that well in recruiting either.

The ideal QB for this system is on the bench in Peterman. Way more mobile and better runner....but he is a mental basket case with a deer in headlights look once in the game. And with the hits WORLEY is taking trying to hang in there to make a pass.....geez do you think he wants to run it? Poor guy needs a break after the last 2 weeks.

Making a bowl is the priority this year...was at the beginning and still is. With as good as this super young team is playing now...top recruits keep committing...we will be competing for the east soon...youngsters need to learn how to close the deal.

So for you folks in the fire the OC camp: have you heard that Hurd is hurt with a shoulder injury and Lane spent the week on crutches.

Thunderfoot,

Thank you for what you do and your service to our country. You are a true Volunteer in the same spirit that earned the Great State of Tennessee the nickname of "The Volunteer State." You are a true hero. Be safe and smart, and return home to us.

Listen, I'm not on the fire Bajakian bandwagon, but I will say there needs to be some serious tweaking to our offensive set and scheme.

Derrel Scott was healthy, fairly certain North, Wolf, Croom, Howard, Helm etc.. were as well

9 points in this game is the equivalent of Butler in the NCAA championship game a few years ago

I wish more people would see this. It is hard for any OC,or QB to look good with the turnstiles on the O line

This OC had an NFL O line last year and his offense still sucked. What was the excuse then? Or could it be that maybe just maybe he is actually the problem? :loco:

So. Carolina is looking bad right now against KY. Wonder if they are considering starting a petition to fire Spurrier? He's been there a long time and not having a good year either. I guess he should have been let go a couple of years after he was hired. They would probably have won the national title every year if they had gotten someone else in.
