Might lose another?

Interesting how all the "problems" are blue shirts. Better be legit Butch or this might come back to bite you.

And by "pronlems" I'm painting with a broad stroke. Could be lack of dedication while training, could be slacking in the classroom, could be bad attitutudes and disrespecting the ciaches and team.

A friend of my dad who is in the know about these type of stories was telling me the story yesterday morning to my dad, I was not paying much attention, he did not know who it was but I heard him saying that Butch was yelling at him in his office giving him a tongue lashing he told my dad what the player did but was playing golf so did not catch the whole thing. Wish I asked him to repeat the story.
Call your dad and ask!

According to your research, that's high?

not really.

he has signed 85 so he has lost 21% of the 3 classes.

remove the last class, there have been 29% left from his from two classes.

SEC average is around 38% for the last 13 signing classes

Anyone know if Quay Picou is going to make it by August 3rd, or will he even qualify?
Odds Please?

I agree with you. LWS has stated there were 7 blueshirts. But that isn't possible if they signed LOIs. Every indication is that all but Bruce, Perry, and Young did. With Bruce gone, there are 2 that count towards '16. The 85 man limit was looking to control next year's class, but at this attrition rate, it may go back to the limit of 23. Anything beyond that would have to count forward.

Not everyone that was announced on National Signing Day faxed in an LOI. Some were financial aid agreements, some were paperwork that only said they were enrolling in school after being accepted to UT.

Better to have 65 top ranked players (which is basically three deep on both sides of the ball) than have 85 and a bunch of dead weight. Butch is rebuilding and some of these blue shirts just got recruited ovrr. Bruce gave Jones an excuse to let him go and hutch took it. Just my belief.

Leb predicted it when all the blueshirt talk first started.

He didn't "predict" anything. He said that Butch would allow the recruits to show up and may or may not honor their scholarship. Them leaving because of discipline issues wasn't part of his spiel. He would have claimed that these were shady machinations but that volcano erupted. :cray:

Just cleaning out the dead wood to make room for the upcoming class.

Kind of like saving Dobbs' redshirt last season??? Coaches go into every season with all the kids they can and play the best players to win. In the coaching business, next year might never come.

As long as we're losing them because they are getting out played in practice by other players, I'm fine with it. Not everyone is going to fit perfectly into Butch Jones' system.

And neither Bruce or Oliver fit that

Practice hasn't started yet

No coach is perfect in player evaluations. There are going to be surprises both good and bad. Very hard to assess what's inside a kid and how he will respond to the jump. I'm sure every roster across the country has stories like this. The kids that can cut it and contribute stay. Those that can't move on to a better fit for that player. We're going to see these situations arise from time to time. Better get used to it. Addition by subtraction.
