The stories/jokes are always of the bad dad/uncle joke variety, though for a period some years back they would get a bit more risque, but it is now more "family friendly".
It's more about the common experience for Aggies.
Most every tradition at A&M requires active participation (Yell Practice/Midnight Yell, 12th Man, Howdy, scoring after scoring, etc), as opposed to passively watching others perform the tradition.
The downside is it may not be as exciting for outsiders to watch as War Eagle, Howard's Rock, dotting the i, etc.
