What's your tie to both schools Bill? Are you one of the millions of damn Yankees in FL?

Lived in Michigan for 40 of my first 41 years on the planet. (been in TN for 9 years now) I have a ton of relatives in Gainesville. I used to visit there 2x a year. Went to my first Gator game when I was about 8. Fell in love with the place.

I went to UF on a music scholarship as a freshman. Drank and skirt chased my way out of the scholarship that first year.

Went back home to MSU for my SECOND Freshman year.....started all over again.

Moved to TN 9 years ago this month. My kid graduated from UT in May, Pre-Vet. Making her second attempt applying to Vet school....hoping to get back to UT or MSU. She was also on the LadyVols Rowing team.

DoubleBonus, my youngest daughter is now singing in Nashville for a living, and currently making more than I do, so a good move for us overall.

Solid answer Bill. My employer's HQ's is based just north of Lansing so most of our corporate personnel are MSU alums. I've followed MSU more over the last 3 years than I ever thought possible and have developed a small inkling of fandom for them. I despise the state of MI as a whole (sorry) but the campus is beautiful and East Lansing is a fun time. Would like to be up there in the fall for a game. Most of trips to the home office take place in the summer.

I grew up in the middle of Lansing, an inner city kid. I was 15 min from campus (or as I found out one morning when I woke up late for drumline rehearsal on gameday....5 min from campus at 115mph) It is a great place to have grown up. Having MSU that close was incredible. The culture, the athletics, the music scene, just a great place to be. Married into the horse biz, and moved south of town in my 20s. Raised 2 kids out there, 20 min from campus. We went to band rehearsals, basketball practices, football practices, all the behind the scenes stuff. They loved it.

A great job opportunity brought me here to TN. Ive been to a couple UT games, really enjoyed it.

The MSU game day atmosphere is excellent. It's the best in my opinion (but of course it is MY school, so I have a solid bias) Im sure you would find it amazing as well. Anyone who loves college football would love a gameday at MSU. If you ever get a chance to make a game there, get to your seats before the band comes in. Its as solid of a pregame show as you will find anywhere. Again, a bit of bias, but most newcomers find it to be a great part of the experience!
