Michigan learns their fate today

At what point is everyone else to blame for tolerating this abusive relationship with the NCAA? The NCAA is sick, but we continue to support them. Is the money really so good that we’ll pretend that we’re not enabling the scum of society?

I’m not saying Michigan got away with it, but look all around you and the punishment doesn’t fit the crime. The NCAA has looted from every one of us over way less.

I wonder why our Capital Hill robs us blind while telling us to be thankful.. Here we are, about to let a bunch of white collar criminals tell us that stealing plays didn’t hurt as many people as a bbq sandwich.

Should have been worse
But, but, but! The ABC national news with David Muir last night stated, " The NCAA hands the University of Mishitghan a "MAJOR" fine". 🤪 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

At tops it will cost them around 40 million dollars, a drop in the bucket for a school that has Larry Ellison as a major contributor to their programs. He is worth about 296 Billion dollars. ;)

All of the level 1 violations at minimum should have resulted in reduction in scholarships. NCAA just encouraging blatant cheating going forward with this.
Not to mention Harbaugh was handed a 4-year Show Cause in Aug 2024 for impermissible contact with recruits and players while access was restricted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shouldn't that put Michigan under the repeat offender category for these new violations?

NCAA is a joke for not forcing Michigan to forfeit victories and consider removing the 2023 National Championship. I agree, there are no repercussions for schools cheating going forward. And the line about "not wanting to punish current athletes for coaches no longer at the school" is a BS white wash.

The NCAA is an effing JOKE.

Of course UM just got a slap on the wrist. Complete BS!! That just tells everyone else: CHEAT ALL YOU WANT. There will be no real punishment if you're caught.

100% BS.

Great of them to announce this too just a couple days before the #1 RB in the country decides whether to go to UM or Tennessee. Just in time huh?? Don't get me wrong...if Hiter doesnt 100% want to be here then we don't need him. Just suspicious timing though to take over a YEAR to handle this situation which was a no-brainer from Day1....BUT they make sure to release those details a couple days before the #1 RB announces his decision that just HAPPENS to be a 50/50 by all accounts between UT and the cheating azz garbage wolverines.

The NCAA is a damn joke. I hope we are doing whatever we want to in recruiting etc. There sure isnt any reason to stick to the arbitrary rules. FBS is gonna be like NASCAR....if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying. Disgusting. I hope the SEC leaves the NCAA and does our own thing.
Do you really believe that---seek help

Everything always comes back to a massive conspiracy to hold the Vols down, for some. We can lose by 30 and some will point to a missed holding call in the 3rd quarter and blame that as the culprit.
Yep. The SC loss was obviously because they had our signals. I have always wondered this. Let’s say SC did have our signals. Why didn’t Heupel and the staff adapt and make changes?

If you really pay attention to the game threads, you will see obvious patterns. If we are losing, it’s always because the other team is holding or getting away with massive penalties. Of course if we are winning, then none of that is happening. I mean according to some on here, Pearce was held on every single play in every game last year. It can never be that we got out played or out coached. Like the SC game. It couldn’t be that SC just played a great game and we didn’t.

Sad statement about sports and society in general when you can get caught cheating during a championship run and there are no significant repercussions.

Moore could've gotten suspended 6 games and it almost would not have matter. The Big 10 only has about 4 to 5 good teams.

That $20M will get watered down somehow by some other type of financial trick.

I don't care who it is but I want someone to physically abuse Big 10 teams during the playoffs.
It is a sad statement but no one should be surprised. Our society has been in the “F the rules, win at all costs for a long time now. Ethics and integrity left years ago. Those are distant memories. That leaves you to stand by and watch things happen, or happen to things as DiVinci said. Playing by the rules doesn’t mean what it used to for sure. It means playing by the rules of the game you’re currently in - and then you win that game. This unfortunately is what I will teach my grandkids. Regardless, GBO!

Yeah knowing our signals doesn’t account for 63 points. If it had been a 35-28 win for South Carolina, maybe I could buy that, but you should be able to hold an inferior team that has been struggling on offense under 60, even if you tell them every play you are running and play with only 10 men on the field.

It was an embarrassment and will stick with Heupel for a long time. The whooping was worse because it was Shane Beamer and a barely above average South Carolina team. It still stings and I knew it would leave a mark on this program for years. If I knew Heupel wasn't trying to construct a team that could lay 100 on South Carolina one day I'd question his competitive spirit.

I’d settle for hanging 40 on a half decent team

That's not even half the story. He did have a barbeque at his house. One of our high school recruits attended the barbeque which was a violation because he could only be on campus during his visit. He was in the 11th grade. Someone took a picture of the recruit and Pearls wife at the cookout.
That picture wound up at Ohio State and that coach sent it to the NCAA. Pearl denied the recruit was at the cookout and when he was shown the picture, he said he didn't know the people in said picture.

Every coach in America knows better than to lie to the NCAA, especially when they have the incriminating evidence and provided it to you during the interview. Pearl was just an idiot and some of our fans just can't get past his firing.
You can try to jazz it up all you want, but it was overkill compared to what was just levied to Michigan. Their current coach got a show cause and still gets to coach. Since when is a show cause levied and the coach gets to continue working at the place he committed the infractions? His only penalty is he has to miss 3 games. And I'm sure the 3 games will be against the schools of the deaf and blind on their schedule. The NCAAs punishment scale is arbitrary and hypocritical and in no way do they hold the moral high ground. Probably why they always get embarrassed in court.

Was what Pearl did wrong? Yes. But Michigan was worse. And Michigan are multiple offenders and basically got a pat in the back for openly cheating.

I think you teach them the difference, but to play by the rules as they are set otherwise they will naive and not living in the reality as it is. They still should keep strong principles and values as a person. At least that's what I will attempt to relay as a balancing act.

Back in the Fulmer days when the O line was elite they would tell the D what play was coming and it didn’t matter.

Blaming that USCjr loss on sign stealing is laughable.
