After Butch's "everyone said we'd only win 2-4 games" comment I think he's just lobbying for a raise.

Seems you're biased against him if that comment bothered you in the least.

If Michigan reached out and he said no, then our program is headed in the right direction. I think coach Jones gets us to 8-4 next year and then in 2016 we will be back in Atlanta for the SEC championship. CBJ has this program improving faster then i ever thought. I wasnt sure we made the right hire when we hired him but now it looks like we got the right man for the job.

I don't see us going 8-4 next year, but if we did, there's a good chance we'd be in Atlanta next year. SECe is bad.

Perhaps you should get your facts straight. He said "So called experts" said that. He was dismissing some wannabe football coaches/critics/negavols.

A bowl game after a 4 year drought? I think that's worthy of a slight raise.

Not sure he really needs a raise or extension. Far too soon. Look at Muschamp. Need at least 3 years to know.

I think so too. I try to get a raise everyday.

If this is true, I have to wonder how many coaches have already turned Michigan down. I cannot imagine CBJ being THAT high on their short list.

Isn't it interesting how many VN contributors are on record saying that Michigan wouldn't be interested in Jones.:whistling:

Bottom Line is CBJ is the absolute best football coach UT could have at this present time. He sells out games with a sub .500 football team and brings in the recruits. If it takes an extension and raise to keep him, then we better bring the $$$. If he were to leave, UT would be irrelevant for a decade+.

I'm not sure about this Football Scoop site. I really don't believe Michigan would reach out to Butch this early in the process. Don't get me wrong, I think Butch is a good coach and it would be horrible to lose him. But, Michigan fans will not be happy hiring a guy sitting on a 11-13 record at UT.

Add to that several Michigan sources saying the Football Scoop post is just flat wrong. I tend to agree. Harbaugh plays it close to the vest. I don't imagine some third tier sports site getting the break on his situation before a bigger service.

I doubt Butch has been called. I doubt he will get called. If he does, I think he stays anyways.

Why cant we go 8 and 4, the East will still be down we don't lose anybody hardly, and MIZZ and the Dawds lose a lot, so we might head to Atlanta with a 9 and 3 record, and then in 16 we will take control of the SEC including the almighty saint nicks team, so I take Coach Jones word that TENNESSEE is his dream job, plus that tells me that coach Jones isn't scared of the elite teams, at Michigan just beat the little ohio state and you got it made, the BUTCHER is on a mission that's not complete yet. So its about kick AZZ time in TENNESSEE again.

Michigan's athletic program is in really bad shape like Tennessee's was in 2012. Michigan is going to be turned down by almost everyone like Tennessee was in 2012.

Congrats, beat three trashy teams and the annual two games against Kentucky and Vandy. That leaves you seven games to win one of significance.
