I think that's a terrible assumption. You make it sound like 1 kicker is all any team ever needs. As a UT fan you should know that Kickers can get injuries as we have had more kicker injuries the last couple years than I've heard of in my whole life. Plus the recruit will not be on campus until next year so that will be Palardy's junior year. If he redshirts then his redshirt freshman year will be Palardy's senior year. That gives him a couple years to get used to the college game and rules and then have 3 years to be the main guy. Or it also gives us a backup plan if Palardy were to not be able to play because of injury. I don't think recruiting a kicker for this class has anything to do with Palardy's performance. Lets see what he does this year...
Maybe your right, and I really hope you are, but with where we are with depth issues (particularly in the Defensive front 7) I would think we would wait another year to pick up another scholarship kicker.
