Miami Herald reporter slams Kiffin in the paper!

This is the email i sent to Mr. Goodman

"Tennessee spent about $25,000 this summer on a billboard in South Florida, where the Volunteers coaching staff hopes to create a strong recruiting base. Unfortunately for Kiffin, the negative publicity caused by Thursday's arrests will not help his cause in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties." - Joseph Goodman

Well Mr. Goodman, youre right, I guess the crime by Nu'Keese Richardson and the other Vols will have a negative impact on Tennessee's recruiting in South Florida considering that South Florida's thugs will just laugh considering that Nu'Keese didn't shoot anyone, have a real gun, or traffic large amounts of drugs.

......Youre an idiot

Go Vols!

Oh what will we ever do?

Inspect your own group of thugs before ever commenting on UT.

I knew it was just a matter of time before your sorry ass carcass came around here.

I was just making an observation about the article. Apparently you missed my comment yesterday that this incident was not a reflection of Kiffin or of UT and Kiffin can not be expected to hold these kids hands 24 hours a day. Grow up and stop being so touchy.

Miami herald, criticizing kiffin? Very funny, indeed. They've got so many thugs in south florida playing for miami, it would take an advanced calculator to keep track!

might as well get use to it. this will eventually pass. vols make it to a bowl game this blows over. if they don't the media will bring up this incident as to why the vols finished the season on a sour note.

So touchy?

I have zero tolerance for you scumbag trolls.

In one post you claim that this is no reflection on UT, then you come back and say the damage is done.

No it's not because I live here and I'm pushing my business partner kid who attends Miami Columbus to keep pushing Jakore Gore RB to commit to the vols! Two Bit believe me the kids in Miami and Broward are loving the vols and we are the most talk about team in the country and I love passing that Vols billboard on I-95. And just so you know Lil Wayne lives here on Miami Beach and these kids love him. Not that I agree with his lyrics but the kids are eating it up here!!! GO VOLS!!!!

So let me get this straight. It's important that the kids love Lil Wayne when his lyrics advocate thuggery and violence:

Why that boy keep buyin' jewelry
East Atlanta cockin' hammers
bandanas on car antennas
No, we do not talk to strangers
Just cut off these .... fingas
Gucci's armed and dangerous
Cocaine, Codeine, and Angel Dust
This AK 47 will hitchu ear boy from ankle up
Gun same size as Nia Long
Clip long as a Pringles can
.45 desert eagle on me you'll think I'm a eagles fan.

This kind of "street cred" is necessary to pull in recruits like the ones who just got arrested for robbery. Careful what you wish for or you'll end up rivaling UF in the arrest category.

With the way Kiffin is, he'll have to learn to take it when it's dished back at him.
Don't get me wrong. I love what he's doing here. He just better have thick skin, and not be a hypocrite if he wants his style to fly in the SEC.

I would try to explain what I meant by the damage being done by that article, but your emotional state won't allow you to think clearly. Have good cry into your pillow and get back with me.

The next two articles coming from Miami: 1) Knoxville and the drug problem in the city. 2) Knoxville's illegal immigration problem.

I dont know where you guys get your information...but damn get some things straight on Miami....first of all the hayseed that said Tenn broke Miami's home winning streak is an idiot. That was Washington that broke the streak September 24, 1994 but thanks for playing. Also, there is only been 1 arrest under current coach Randy Shannon. That arrest was Robert Marve who broke a car mirror. He transferred to Purdue after playing one season. Hmmm thats 1 arrest in the last 3 years. But you guys keep living in the 80's and pretend Tenn has a team full of choir boys. Dont let facts get in the way.

Wow, this thread is certainly full of a lot of misinformation and half-truths.

I'm not here to flame, but to set the record straight.

Miami has run a pretty clean ship since Butch Davis came in back in the mid 90's. They've had VERY few arrests (less than 5 that I know of) in about 15 years, and none for anything even remotely approaching armed robbery. Yes, Bryan Pata was killed near campus 3 years ago, but that isn't exactly a criminal act on his part--he was a good kid by all accounts, no police record, wasn't a "thug," etc. The fact that some here are using his tragic end as a comparison point between UM and what's currently going on at UT is pretty lame. And yes, a couple of players were shot at right around that time--again, not criminal acts on their parts. The players themselves had no records, were not criminals of any sort.

All in all, there has been no need for the Miami Herald to runs stories about UM's criminal players because UM hasn't HAD any criminal players for some time now. The "Thug U" stuff that began in the 80's and 90's has stuck with UM despite their clean record since that time.

and how many arrests for the Vols in the past 5? I'm guessing between 20-30.

And Randy Shannon wasn't the assistant coach under Coker when Bryan Pata got shot and killed and the drive-by shooting the week earlier with I think Brandon Merriweather if my memory is correct????

You make it sound like UT is so intimidated by Florida. Tennessee will never fear a 20 year old program like Florida. You guys have been outstanding over the last 5 seasons and dominated us, and there is still no fear in Knoxville for your traditionless program, your womanly coach, or your self promoting douchebag of a quarterback.

I didn't make it sound like anything, only having a chuckle at trying to grasp the logic that other programs fear or should fear UT. I don't expect any major program should fear UF but assuming that UF or other programs should fear UT is far-fetched.

And I'll take my "traditionless program" with only 20 years of history and ALL its accolades rather than a decrepit UT program who wasn't capable of matching those same accolades in 100+ years of a program with tradition.

And what does that have to do with anything? Pata wasn't a criminal--he had no police record, and was a good kid. WTF does the fact that he was murdered have to do with football players who act unlawfully and are arrested? Same with the other playters who were shot at--tell me again what they were ever charged with??

UT did break Miami's 2nd longest home streak.

The fact we are hated so badly proves to me we are on the right track.

You thinking is wrong. Your so called great recruiting class last year is coming apart at the hinges and youre not out recruiting any of ur rivals this year. I think u were hated just as bad last year, just didnt have a coach that was so easy to make fun of.

WTF is wrong with everyone???? Every school had kids who do stupid things, break the law and generally act with no sense. Why throw those around as earmarks of success when all are sad and ruin lives. NO COACH has ever willed their players to do it. NO COACH has wanted this to happen. Trying to compare what stupid people do to other stupid people is not a way to compare schools. They're all sad incidents with far reaching consequences for those involved. Seriously, get out of here. Let he without sin cast the first stone, and I defy anyone to find a school with a clean record.

Yeah, crap happened. Who's fault is it? The people who decided robbing a car at a gas station was a good idea. It's not Kiffin's fault anymore than it is the kids who got robbed. Everyone grow up and find something worth while to argue about. This is just sad.
