Miami Dolphins stole our 3rd down for what!

Obviously the OP means "stole" in the context of we did it first and they copied, not because of legal ownership.

I think several programs have done this since we started doing it.

Hasn't this thread been created like a hundred times?? Don't blame op, but other teams have used it before

Speaking of copying, how can Miami's natural grass field look so much better than ours? A visit to their field guy should be on tap.

You know you're wasting your time explaining that right? LOL

Well, they do benefit from being in South Florida
That's exactly my point. The announcer said a college game was played there yesterday and it's been raining off and on today and it is holding up way better than Shields-Watkins would.

So, start playing home games in the Orange Bowl?

Auburn used it in 2013.

I've heard it in the background of many NFL games, including at Arrowhead for the Chiefs.

UGA's field looked great last night. Grass grows outside of Florida. Isn't it strange how great the field was, for example 2000-2010, but now it isn't. I bet I know why. Global warming. It's those darned capitalists.

Miami was a pro turf grass and drainage system. What make Miami's turf system so different is not the grass but a forced / pumped drainage system which can handle up to 8" of rainfall per hour. South Florida has so much rainfall every year that if they did not have this system it would be impossible to have a good playing surface week to week during the season. Even the high school systems in South Dade County require their playing surfaces to provide 6 - 8 inches of drainage per hour. UT needs to get in touch with an experienced civil engineer. :whistling:

I was listening to an Alabama HS playoff game Fri. night, and the guy calling the game used the phrase twice, (third down for what), and he is a big Bama fan.

We are top 5 in the country on third down defense ( not that the song has anything to do with it. )
