Yeah, cause players at UT should be reading a Vol message board, instead of doing their homework, chasing tail, or throwing beer bottles off a balcony.

Whatever....you know I'm right. Put yourself in Bray's shoes. If I was Bray and read some if the crap on here I'd have a very strong disliking for the fan base.....and your type....is the type that does nothing but gripe and complain like a teenage girl with PMS

You think you would care if they had a message board for your work and when you looked at it there were many that said you were ignorant, lazy, unmotivated and needed to be kicked in the azz every 5 minutes to get you to move? While it's all probably true.... You wouldn't want it all out there on Front St. Would you?

No1 forces these kids to play. they do it for their own benefits nfl girls love of the game free ride to college and so on. if they cant handle criticism when they play awful dont sign up to play? welcome to the real world its not all cupcakes and unicorns. also i have not bashed any players but i have no problem with those that have go vols crush uga

This is the mentality that makes players soft. 95% of the criticism towards players is directed at poor effort, quitting or bad attitudes. I think most would agree that a team giving 100% is not going to get criticized. Physical mistakes are tolerable as long as players learn from them. But 18-22 year olds are not kids. They are young men being given a golden opportunity to play football and receive a quality education. They owe their best effort on the field.

If Bray has a problem with the fan base then maybe he should not get arrested, not act apathetic or best of all win a big football game. You apologists act like we owe the players when in fact they owe us for our financial support. What has he done for his school except tank?

The problem with this is that these athletes chose UT. They probably visited and loved the atmosphere in Neyland Stadium, maybe had the rock painted for them, and wanted to come play in a place where they would be loved for their efforts. At the first sign of one of these kids not being up to "Tennessee standards", people jump all over their cases. Those athletes chose to come here to play football for UT. They owe you or any other fan nothing. They owe the school for the free education. Players might choke under pressure, but that's no reason to bash them. Just enjoy it. If anything at all, then criticize the coaches for putting the players in or not coaching them right, or recruiting them for that matter.

I appreciate your sentiment, but I'd like to offer two thoughts. Number one is the reason for the negativity is poor performance and you saying there is too much directly correlates to frustration. My other thought is this...you are probably right that some negative posters dont know the first thing about teamwork and commitment. However, i'm pretty sure there are some passionate fans that have played tons of sports and have experiences like military service that have taught them the value of team. I believe these people love the vols and find it excruciating to watch some of the players they don't feel are committed to team.

Just remember without the fans there is no team...like East Tennessee State. And I don't want Bray to think about me. I'd rather he think about not throwing beer bottles and watching the film of the second half of the Florida game he claims he skipped.

I think you miss the frustrations of most. You say they come to be loved for their efforts and they are when they give great effort. A.J. Johnson gives great effort and that is the "Tennessee Standard" you speak of.

There is a team without fans. Teams have survived for years with little to no fan support. Does Da'rick owe Tennessee Tech fans? Because by your logic he does, when in reality, Tech brought Da'rick in knowing that he was a freakish athlete that would replace an NFL draft pick for them. Granted UT might not be playing in the SEC without fans, but there is still a team.

And if the fans turn on Bray, what incentive does he have to not pack it up? His defense sucks, his receivers drop passes, fans want his coach fired and he's probably lost more games as a starting quarterback than about any other quarterback to put on the orange. Seriously, at this point, he's probably thinking get done and leave this pathetic situation. Can't say I don't blame him.
